Having broken into strategy consulting from a non-traditional (engineering) background, I understand the nuances of the undergraduate consulting recruiting process and bring a fresh perspective on what it takes to succeed in today's competitive landscape. I've mentored dozens of college students to land offers from top firms and have given over 100 case interviews along the way. My experience leading two of the largest consulting organizations at my university and hosting recruiting events at Accenture has equipped me with invaluable insights and strategies. I worked at McKinsey for six years as an Engagement Manager on the growth team in New York City. I spent multiple years as the lead for college recruiting and interviewing.

I successfully broke into Bain as a non-business major at a non-target school. Having just gone through the consulting recruitment process, I understand exactly what it takes to succeed at every stage. I have both given and received over 100 case interviews while mentoring friends and peers, and I am deeply familiar with the behavioral interview process, storytelling, and building strong connections with interviewers. I was once in your shoes, eager to land a consulting offer at MBB. Later, I sat on the other side of the table. Through both, I’ve learned that acing the interview isn’t about memorizing frameworks, but about thinking and communicating clearly under pressure. I spent three years at BCG before leading strategy and operations at lululemon and Netflix. After earning my MBA at Stanford GSB, I became Chief of Staff at a mission-driven startup tackling maternal mental health. Along the way, I’ve coached dozens of candidates into MBB by helping them think clearly, communicate simply, and stay grounded when it matters most. During my 4 years at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), I got the chance to work across a number of industries (healthcare, financial services, public sector) as well as all over Europe, the US and Australia. Coming from a non-business background, I understand what it means to navigate the competitive landscape of management consulting. Hi — I’m Cristian I spent ~5 years at McKinsey and was promoted twice, working across a wide range of industries and project types. A core part of my time at the firm was coaching and developing others, including leading the McKinsey new joiner training on several occasions. Over the last 4 years I’ve coached ~400 candidates across 1,400 sessions. My outcomes are tracked and published in an annual, name-sanitised report: 88% received ≥1 offer (and 63% for MBB-only targets). In my approach, I do 3 things differently: 1. I coach first principles thinking. Because consulting interviewers want to see how you think, not hear memorised frameworks. 2. I overemphasise personal fit prep. Because most candidates ignore it and that gives my candidates an edge. 3. I identify and train for spikes. Because top consulting firms don’t want you to be ok at everything, but great at something. After every session, I provide a granular 1-page scorecard quantifying your probability of passing the interview, along with clear feedback and drills to improve.
