Patrick Shannon holds a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California and a Master of Science in Real Estate Finance and Investment from New York University, where he was selected for the Hirsh Fellows accelerated honors program. In 2023, he also participated in Harvard Business School’s highly competitive Summer Venture in Management Program (SVMP). While at NYU, Patrick served as a research coordinator for Urban Lab, preparing case studies for the ULI Resilience Summit and the Mayors' Institute on City Design. Professionally, he has built experience across top firms including Newmark, AEW Capital Management, Lincoln Property Company, and Matthews Real Estate Investment Services. Today, Patrick is part of the Shannon Team at Newmark Capital Markets, specializing in office, industrial, and retail real estate. He is passionate about helping others break into real estate investment, private equity, and capital markets by sharing practical insights, technical preparation, and career strategies.

I bring more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate finance, with extensive expertise in arranging debt through Life Companies, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, USDA, CMBS lenders, bridge lenders, banks, and credit unions. My background includes structuring a broad range of financing solutions, including construction loans, permanent loans, construction-to-permanent loans, bridge loans, and participating loans—where the lender serves as both capital provider and investment partner. Throughout my career, I have placed billions of dollars in commercial loans across all major property types, including multifamily, industrial, retail, office, self-storage, hospitality, assisted living, and various special-use assets. All transactions have been executed within the United States, covering most major markets. I can assist you in several key areas: Determining the right financing structure for your property and investment goals. Preparing you for the loan process to ensure you qualify and present strongly as a sponsor. Evaluating project feasibility, including identifying red flags and reviewing market data, comparable properties, and economic projections. Welcome to my profile! I am a J.D. candidate at Columbia Law School, and real estate is one of my largest passions. I got my first real estate license when I was 19, and have since passed the real estate exam in multiple states. Through internship experience, I have been involved with many different parts of the real estate industry. As an aide to the Mayor of a sizable New England city, I became well versed the local regulatory frameworks regarding real estate development, and I also have some experience working with landlords to identify new potential properties or streamline their rental operations with technology. I am also very well versed on real estate economics and recent market news, and it's one of my favorite subjects to talk about. Though I have not been involved with real estate sales directly, I also have significant experience working with startups and developing sales and outreach strategies in that context.
