Welcome! I'm a Senior Applied Scientist at Amazon (AGI Foundations), where I work on post-training and reinforcement learning for code-generation models. Before Amazon, I built text-to-video generation models at Pika (the post-training behind features like Pikaffects), co-founded and was CTO of Humanlike (YC S23), led document-AI products at Snorkel AI used by Fortune 500 companies, and did deep reinforcement learning research at Uber AI Labs — with published work at NeurIPS, ICLR, and CVPR and a master's from UC Berkeley. My background isn't what you'd expect. I spent my early career in investment analysis and strategic finance before making the jump into AI and tech. Along the way I built a solo AI app from scratch that grew to 2,000+ users, picked up enough technical skills to ship real products, and found ways to contribute to AI initiatives at LinkedIn without having a CS degree or a traditional tech pedigree. The reason I coach in this space is simple: I figured it out the hard way, and I think I can help others skip some of the confusion. Breaking into AI from a non-traditional background means translating your existing skills into a language the industry understands, building the right kind of proof points, and knowing where to focus your energy. I'm still on this journey myself, which means I'm close to the same questions my clients are wrestling with.
