As a current dental student at The Ohio State University, I have been through the rigorous path of dental school applications. Applying during the mess of COVID I received interviews and acceptances from all of the schools I had applied at ultimately putting me at The Ohio State University. Starting on the journey without any prior family or friends in dental school I had to learn how to do it all and this forced me to find mentors and students along the way.. with getting assistance from so many others I would love to be that source for someone else.

Entering dental school at the age of 29 - after already going through medical school, two Master's programs, and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering - I am driven to help guide those who are striving for a career in dentistry at any level. I have always been passionate about teaching and mentorship! Throughout dental school, I have been involved in numerous organizations that have allowed me to create content or mentor dental and pre-dental students. AADSAS Advisory Board member, working with dental admissions officers to run the dental school application. Served as the 1-of-1 National Pre-dental Liaison, GoDental Liaison, and California Pre-dental Chair for the ADEA Council of Students, Residents, and Fellows. Have went through the admissions process myself to gain accepted to some of the most competitive dental schools in the world, including UCLA and UCSF's School of Dentistry. I work with former admissions officers to develop strategies for admissions, through the personal statement, interviews, and application. 350+ pre-dental students served.

During my 3rd and 4th years of college, COVID-19 years, I engaged in countless hours of shadowing, service, and studying for the DAT. Additionally, my wife and I were lucky to have a child born two months before finals in the second to last semester of our undergraduate studies. With my wife’s support, I was able to surpass my goal on the DAT and we both graduated from BYU-Provo within 4 years of starting. I applied to 12 dental schools, interviewed at six, and was accepted and offered a position at all six schools beginning in the fall of 2022. I am currently a first-year dental student attending the University of Utah School of Dentistry. I have founded a Public Health Club and am a member of the Pediatrics and Business clubs among participating in a handful of others. Additionally, I am currently working on becoming an AHEC Scholar and am working to figure out a schedule to graduate with a dual degree MPH/DDS with the Dean of my school.

Straight out of dental school, I was fortunate to gain admission to the highly regarded University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine Endodontics residency program. I greatly enjoyed my experience at Penn Endo, but I realized that my true passion lies in teaching, coaching, research and public health, which I aim to focus my career on. I have worked in the mentorship space since college. I still advise students on how to get into their top undergraduate programs - specifically those that are international students. The application process for international students is much more difficult in both undergrad and professional school. To make matters worse, there is not much information available to students to navigate this complicated journey. This is where I come in. I can speak from personal experience and aid students - international or not - on how to navigate a difficult admissions process to get into the school you want to get into.
