About me: Since HLS, my own career has taken me from corporate intellectual property law in New York to strategy consulting at Boston Consulting Group, followed by strategic and advisory work spanning education, startups, and other industries. I've navigated much of that path without a built-in network or an obvious roadmap, and I know what it's like to have to figure out not only how to get somewhere, but where you actually want to go. Today, I coach people applying to competitive schools and jobs, changing careers, or exploring entirely new directions. As a former Associate Director of Admissions at Stanford Law School, I have read thousands of applications front to back, and have a deep understanding of what top law schools are looking for. I have many years of experience helping prospective law students gain admission to their dream schools - even those with less than optimal GPAs and LSAT scores. I am a strong believer that an applicant is more than the numbers - but the essay is the make-it or break-it factor. I will be your thought partner and supportive advisor from start to finish. I've spent more than a decade helping people get into law school, and I've seen the process from every side: as a student, a lawyer, a teacher and the person running the program. I earned my JD from Chicago-Kent College of Law and I'm an active member of the Illinois Bar. Before that, I studied history at the University of Chicago. I've clerked at the Cook County State's Attorney's Office and practiced as managing partner of my own firm, so I can tell you what law school is actually preparing you for. I started teaching for The Princeton Review in 2014 and went on to become National Director of Operations for its graduate programs. In that role, I oversaw LSAT and admissions programs for more than 35,000 students, including a period when LSAT demand nearly quadrupled. I also hired and trained hundreds of instructors, and advised staff on how law school admissions really works. I'll help you build a plan that fits your numbers, your timeline and your story, then work through it with you step by step. My approach is calm and practical. Good coaching should make this process feel more manageable, not more stressful.

I got into UVA Law — a T14 — as a first-generation, low-income applicant with a 3.4 GPA and a 150 LSAT, both below their medians. I know what it takes to earn a "yes" when the stats say no, because those were my numbers. I've also worked the other side of the desk: as an admissions counselor at Empowerly and my law school's BLSA Membership Chair, working alongside UVA Law admissions on recruiting, where I saw how a top admissions office actually weighs a file. The applicants I've mentored have gone on to UVA Law, Duke, and Stanford. And as a practicing commercial litigator at a boutique trial firm, I can tell you what the legal career on the other side of this application really looks like — not the BigLaw-desk version.
