Break Into Nursing with a Former UCLA Nurse Practitioner Student
I am a registered nurse with nearly nine years of experience and a diverse educational background that allows me to support both future and current nursing students. I earned an Associate of Arts in Psychology from Atlantic Cape Community College, completed a Health Science Post-Baccalaureate Program at the University of Pennsylvania, earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rutgers University, and completed my Master of Science in Nursing–Family Nurse Practitioner education at UCLA. Because my own journey included community college, undergraduate nursing education, post-baccalaureate coursework, and graduate nursing training, I understand that there are many paths into nursing and that every student’s journey is different.
For future nursing students, I can help with choosing programs, building a competitive application, improving résumés and personal statements, preparing for interviews, and presenting healthcare, volunteer, and life experiences effectively. For current nursing students, I can provide support with study planning, time management, clinical preparation, confidence building, managing stress, and navigating the challenges of nursing school. I can also help students prepare for life after graduation through résumé development, job-search strategy, interview preparation, specialty selection, networking, and planning for advanced nursing education. My goal is to help students gain admission, succeed during nursing school, and begin their nursing careers with confidence and a clear plan.
