Led Stanford and LGBTQ recruiting for Bain's Bay Area offices, during which I reviewed 200+ resumes & CVs (selecting applicants to interview) and case prepped 60+ candidates. Also spent 3 months working full-time with Bain SF's recruiting team, including facilitating hiring committees, tracking applicant feedback, and closing prospective hires. Separate from recruitment, I worked on multiple corporate and private equity consulting case teams and was consistently rated in the top 10% of my 65-person cohort. I'm Marisa — a Chicago Booth MBA, former McKinsey consultant, and I held simultaneous offers from McKinsey, Bain, and BCG. After nearly three years at McKinsey, I've left to build my own consulting firm, and with that transition comes something I've been wanting to do for a while: coach serious candidates through the MBB recruiting process. I spent my time at Booth as co-chair of the consulting club, creating case drills, leading prep sessions, and helping classmates prepare their personal experience narratives. Coaching isn't new to me — and now I get to do it at scale.

As a former McKinsey Senior Business Analyst who was promoted early and staffed on high-visibility projects across industries, I bring firsthand insight into what top-tier firms look for in candidates. I’ve helped 15+ mentees navigate the recruiting process, with over 10 earning full-time or internship offers from MBB firms, by emphasizing not just casing fundamentals, but also the judgment, communication, and composure that differentiate real-world consultants. In my final year at McKinsey, I directly managed early-tenured analysts, mentoring them through their first engagements and helping them ramp quickly in high-pressure client environments. I spent several years at McKinsey, progressing from Associate to Engagement Manager. Along the way I interviewed candidates at multiple levels and developed a clear sense of what actually differentiates the people who get offers. I focus on the parts of consulting recruiting that most candidates underinvest in: resume positioning, the application narrative, and fit interview prep. I'll also help you think through case structure and how to approach problem-solving under pressure. For live case drilling I'll point you to the right external resources — but in my experience, that's rarely where offers are won or lost.

After receiving an offer from Bain and BCG out of Wharton Undergraduate, I spent 4 extensive years at BCG in our Washington DC office, even doing a secondment at Fanatics. But most importantly, I helped lead campus recruiting at the University of Pennsylvania. I've seen firsthand what distinguishes those who have the potential to receive an offer vs. those who actually do receive the offer. I've also experienced it from the other side. As someone who's consistently challenged myself at each stage: applying to Wharton Undergraduate, MBB, Wharton MBA, and Private Equity most recently, I've been in some competitive contexts. In Wharton Undergraduate, as a son of Korean immigrants, I was worried I didn't have any connections. So, I ran 200+ cases with friends in MUSE Consulting Club and networked with everyone in the Penn Alumni Directory. I've been terrified of the process too. My goal here is to be efficient with your time and make it count. I've helped 50+ clients land MBB roles & 10+ get into M7 programs. My approach is uniquely deliberate: your story must be consistent across networking strategy, cover letters, resume, coffee chats, informal chats, and behavioral interviews - not 30 different pitches. On cases, I help you build one adaptable structure for any scenario, not memorize frameworks or practice cases mindlessly.

I've been heavily involved in consulting recruiting throughout my career and have seen the process from nearly every angle.
