There's a vast majority of talented consultants building real careers at firms outside of McKinsey, Bain, and BCG. There's great coaching on this platform for people trying to break into consulting, but once you're in, are you getting the support you need? I get it from both sides. I've spent years in enterprise consulting at Credera, and before that I was the client, working in industry operations at Southwest Airlines alongside firms like Deloitte, EY, Accenture, Oliver Wyman, and PwC. I've seen what great consultants look like from across the table, and I know what it takes to grow into one. This is not case interview prep. This is for consultants who are already in the game and want someone in their corner. Someone to help them find clarity on direction, grow with intention instead of just grinding through engagements, and prepare for whatever comes next, whether that's a promotion, a pivot, or a whole new chapter. After receiving an offer from Bain and BCG out of Wharton Undergraduate, I spent 4 extensive years at BCG in our Washington DC office, even doing a secondment at Fanatics. But most importantly, I helped lead campus recruiting at the University of Pennsylvania. I've seen firsthand what distinguishes those who have the potential to receive an offer vs. those who actually do receive the offer. I've also experienced it from the other side. As someone who's consistently challenged myself at each stage: applying to Wharton Undergraduate, MBB, Wharton MBA, and Private Equity most recently, I've been in some competitive contexts. In Wharton Undergraduate, as a son of Korean immigrants, I was worried I didn't have any connections. So, I ran 200+ cases with friends in MUSE Consulting Club and networked with everyone in the Penn Alumni Directory. I've been terrified of the process too. My goal here is to be efficient with your time and make it count. I've helped 50+ clients land MBB roles & 10+ get into M7 programs. My approach is uniquely deliberate: your story must be consistent across networking strategy, cover letters, resume, coffee chats, informal chats, and behavioral interviews - not 30 different pitches. On cases, I help you build one adaptable structure for any scenario, not memorize frameworks or practice cases mindlessly.

Led Stanford and LGBTQ recruiting for Bain's Bay Area offices, during which I reviewed 200+ resumes & CVs (selecting applicants to interview) and case prepped 60+ candidates. Also spent 3 months working full-time with Bain SF's recruiting team, including facilitating hiring committees, tracking applicant feedback, and closing prospective hires. Separate from recruitment, I worked on multiple corporate and private equity consulting case teams and was consistently rated in the top 10% of my 65-person cohort. I was promoted from Analyst to Senior Manager in less than 6 years at Accenture as a Management Consultant. During my time there and also after, I have coached many peers both of lower and higher levels to get the promotion they long for. Consulting is NOT school, you can't just work hard and hope others are noticing to help promote you. Learning to network and build your own board of directors is critical in advancement but you need to balance not being too thirsty at the same time. A lot of this work starts with confidence building and transitions to improving your storytelling skillset. Lastly the work is continuous, your board of directors may leave, a re-org is most definitely going to take place - contingency plans and should always be on your mind.

I’m a recent Cornell Johnson MBA graduate and incoming Consultant at BCG after receiving a return offer from my summer internship.
