I have worked with 200+ people on their personal statements, resumes, and general career advice. I am honest about what I know and honest about what I don't know. So often people on coaching websites pretend to have information they have to trick consumers into utilizing their service. I just want to share what I know and I hope it helps you on your journey.

I have worked as a Med School coach helping pre-medical students, medical students, residents, and cardiology fellows along their journey, since July 2021. I worked for MedSchool Insiders previously.

As a passionate mentor with a proven track record of helping students gain admission to top medical schools, I understand the challenges and nuances of the application process firsthand. As a first-generation college graduate and a Columbia-educated biomedical engineer, I’ve overcome my own hurdles in pursuing a career in medicine. This gives me a deep appreciation for the unique journeys of each aspiring physician I coach. From excelling on the MCAT to securing prestigious research positions and crafting compelling personal statements, I bring a wealth of experience and a personal touch to each session. As a current MD Pathways student at Harvard Medical school, with a very successful medical application cycle, I bring a wealth of knowlege to the medical school admissions process. I am passionate about helping aspiring medical students achieve their goals. I have coached several pre med students in a non professional setting, helping them stand out through their unique experiences and personal stories. I was fortunate to get in 10 out 11 selective programs I applied to with full-merit schorlarships. I attribute my ability to tell a compelling story throughout my application a source of my succcess. I am also happy to offer mentorship at every stage of the process whether you are a freshman in college, aiming to envision a strategy for next years to someone wanting get some practice with medical school interviews. l have been mentoring and coaching students in the undergraduate, medical, and medical residency application process for over 25 years. My clients have been accepted to outstanding schools such as Harvard College, Harvard Medical School, Stanford University School of Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, Stanford Neurosurgery Residency, and Yale Internal Medicine Residency. All of the medical school applicants I have worked with have received multiple interviews at the very top programs. I hold a PhD in English and American Literature (with a writing emphasis) (1982) and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (1986). I taught introductory and advanced writing at the University of Massachusetts for many years and also worked for over five years as a consultant/writer/editor at Arthur D. Little, a large Boston based consulting firm. In addition to my mentorship work and work as a writer, I am a Clinical Psychologist and have been working with young adult clients for some thirty years. While I am passionate about my clinical work, I honestly enjoy applying my skillset toward working through the essay writing and application process with those applying to college and medical school. This process requires some self reflection in order to create a convincing narrative, and I love guiding my clients through this process. My goals is always to help create the most convincing and well written essays-- essays that perfectly support the student’s application. In addition to helping clients with the essay components of the application process, I also have great insight into the "tricks" of structuring and presenting the activity section of the medical school application--so that you ultimately create a cohesive and convincing picture of what you have accomplished, who you are, and how you stand out.

I’ve delivered clinical care in free clinics from New Haven to San Francisco and contributed to asylum evaluations supporting trauma-informed immigration cases. ❤️ I am a first generation immigrant and the first in my family to pursue medicine. I care deeply about supporting applicants who do not come from traditional backgrounds or who may not have had structured guidance. I meet students where they are and help them express who they are with clarity and confidence so they can present the strongest and most genuine version of themselves.

As a recent matriculate to medical school, the application process is still very fresh in mind. Having applied to schools in both the US and Canada, with several interviews and acceptances at top 15 schools, I bring an insider's perspective that will help you stand out at the most competitive schools in North America. I consider my application to be fairly unique, in that my extracurriculars weren't necessarily the "traditional" pre-med activities. Often times, this is what worries people - "I don't know if med schools will care that I did X." Low and behold, that uniqueness may just be what catches and admissions officer's attention and leads to an interview invitation. This is just a small example of how expert guidance can help you leverage your strengths and pique the interest of the admissions committees at schools across the country. Hi everyone! My name is Kavya, and I am from sunny Orlando, Florida. When I applied to medical school, I was fortunate to receive interview invites from all but one of the schools I applied to, and received acceptances to several top schools, including Harvard, Stanford, UPenn, Columbia, and Yale. I know how long and stressful applying to medical school can be, so whatever stage you are at in the process, remember to be kind to yourself and be proud of how far you have come! In college and during my gap years, I spent my time doing neurodegenerative disease and public health research, as well as advocacy work with a free health screening organization. Hello everyone! My name is Carlos and I am a first-year student at Harvard Medical School. I graduated from the College of William & Mary in 2023 with a B.S. Social Justice in Medicine. At William & Mary, I attending on a full-ride through the 1693 Scholarship. I also received a number of academic honors, including the Albert & Phyllis Pre-medical Award, Hulon Willis Memorial Scholarship, and the Lord Botetourt Medal (given to the most distinguished undergraduate in the class). I applied to 20 U.S. medical school and was offered interviews at 16. I ended up attending 12 interviews, and was accepted at 8 of the schools and waitlisted at the other 4. At Harvard, I am a part of the Dean's REACH Scholarship program where I receive almost full finding for my 4 years. I have some interest in pursuing cardiology or dermatology, but am still exploring my options as a first-year. I am happy to help others achieve their medical school goals by reviewing essays, providing application/interview advice, and providing MCAT advice!
