I have over 10 years of experience in coaching individuals on building their experiences and putting together successful applications for pre-medical programs, medical schools, and residencies. Having graduated from Harvard Medical School, I have been through the application process and learned what was needed to be successful. I have a comprehensive understanding of what medical schools and looking for and can be of assistance to help students stand out. My interactions have showed me the types of experiences that are beneficial to applicants and how to frame them when submitting an application for the highest chance of success.

I am a physician-scientist in training, and I have completed my PhD at the University of Cambridge where I was a Gates Cambridge Scholar, and I am currently pursuing my MD training at Stanford University where I am a Knight-Hennessy Scholar. I am also a Research Fellow at Caius College in Cambridge, which is one of the most prestigious independent research positions. I have over 9 years of experience in academic institutions and have been admitted to several top medical schools including Stanford, Harvard and Yale. I have experience crafting individualised personal statements for some of the world's top scholarships, including Gates Cambridge, Knight-Hennessy and Barry M. Goldwater scholarships. I also have extensive experience in writing and have published multiple sole, first-authored manuscripts in the journal Nature and have won multiple research grants from the NSF and NIH. I have mentored and worked with aspiring medical and graduate school applicants in the US and the UK and have unique insights into the admission process at top universities.

Hey there! I’m currently a fourth-year medical student at Stanford, where my research focuses on psychiatry and neurology. Unlike many of my peers, my path to medicine was deeply shaped by the humanities. I graduated from Harvard, where I earned a rare joint concentration in neuroscience and philosophy. After college, I earned a master’s degree from Duke in bioethics, technology ethics, and science policy, and I furthered my neurophilosophy studies as a Fulbright scholar in Germany before starting medical school. I believe medical school admissions is about more than just getting accepted — it’s a rare opportunity for deep reflection and growth. When approached with purpose and intention, the process can shape how you move through the rest of your life and career. I bring a unique background to this work, drawing on years of experience supporting students during some of their most vulnerable moments — as a peer mental health counselor, a member of Harvard’s Honor Council, and a student representative on several faculty committees. I’ve developed a keen ability to understand each student’s journey and help them express it clearly, powerfully, and authentically. Choosing to work with me means more than partnering with a Harvard alum, Fulbright scholar, and Stanford medical student who has gone through this process personally — it means working with someone who has helped his own siblings through this exact process, a community member known as the go-to for college and graduate school advice, and a former admissions professional at Ardent Academy. Hello everyone! My name is Carlos and I am a first-year student at Harvard Medical School. I graduated from the College of William & Mary in 2023 with a B.S. Social Justice in Medicine. At William & Mary, I attending on a full-ride through the 1693 Scholarship. I also received a number of academic honors, including the Albert & Phyllis Pre-medical Award, Hulon Willis Memorial Scholarship, and the Lord Botetourt Medal (given to the most distinguished undergraduate in the class). I applied to 20 U.S. medical school and was offered interviews at 16. I ended up attending 12 interviews, and was accepted at 8 of the schools and waitlisted at the other 4. At Harvard, I am a part of the Dean's REACH Scholarship program where I receive almost full finding for my 4 years. I have some interest in pursuing cardiology or dermatology, but am still exploring my options as a first-year. I am happy to help others achieve their medical school goals by reviewing essays, providing application/interview advice, and providing MCAT advice!

Having recently gone through the medical school application process, I am excited to mentor premedical students as they prepare their own applications. I was fortunate to receive over 15 acceptances at top programs—including Harvard, Penn, Columbia, Duke, Yale, and Vanderbilt—along with full-ride scholarship offers. I aim to translate these experiences into actionable, individualized advice for future applicants.

I am interested in helping guide aspiring Pre-med and medical students through the admissions/application process. My journey includes completing my MD at Tel Aviv University, Internal Medicine residency at UConn, Chief Resident at Greenwich Hospital, and currently as a Gastroenterology Fellow at Rochester Regional Health. I have also obtained a graduate certificate from UConn in health professions education while in residency. Moreover, I have worked with students, residents, and peers helping them navigate the complexities of both medical school and residency applications and interviews; in addition to helping tutor for the USMLE and ABIM exams.
