I’ve worked with dozens of students applying to medical school and spent two years working with MD admissions. I’ve also served as a medical school interviewer. While I’m no longer affiliated and have no say in admissions decisions, I bring valuable insight into how the process works — with no conflict of interest. I was admitted to the three medical schools (all top programs) I applied to, with full financial support, and completed all my applications independently without external help. I can help you think through your story, select and frame impactful experiences, and craft an application that is personal, strategic, and compelling. I also guide students in supporting their recommenders to write strong letters and in building a narrative that holds together across all parts of the application. I am a physician-scientist in training, and I have completed my PhD at the University of Cambridge where I was a Gates Cambridge Scholar, and I am currently pursuing my MD training at Stanford University where I am a Knight-Hennessy Scholar. I am also a Research Fellow at Caius College in Cambridge, which is one of the most prestigious independent research positions. I have over 9 years of experience in academic institutions and have been admitted to several top medical schools including Stanford, Harvard and Yale. I have experience crafting individualised personal statements for some of the world's top scholarships, including Gates Cambridge, Knight-Hennessy and Barry M. Goldwater scholarships. I also have extensive experience in writing and have published multiple sole, first-authored manuscripts in the journal Nature and have won multiple research grants from the NSF and NIH. I have mentored and worked with aspiring medical and graduate school applicants in the US and the UK and have unique insights into the admission process at top universities.

Hello everyone! My name is Carlos and I am a first-year student at Harvard Medical School. I graduated from the College of William & Mary in 2023 with a B.S. Social Justice in Medicine. At William & Mary, I attending on a full-ride through the 1693 Scholarship. I also received a number of academic honors, including the Albert & Phyllis Pre-medical Award, Hulon Willis Memorial Scholarship, and the Lord Botetourt Medal (given to the most distinguished undergraduate in the class). I applied to 20 U.S. medical school and was offered interviews at 16. I ended up attending 12 interviews, and was accepted at 8 of the schools and waitlisted at the other 4. At Harvard, I am a part of the Dean's REACH Scholarship program where I receive almost full finding for my 4 years. I have some interest in pursuing cardiology or dermatology, but am still exploring my options as a first-year. I am happy to help others achieve their medical school goals by reviewing essays, providing application/interview advice, and providing MCAT advice!

I am interested in helping guide aspiring Pre-med and medical students through the admissions/application process. My journey includes completing my MD at Tel Aviv University, Internal Medicine residency at UConn, Chief Resident at Greenwich Hospital, and currently as a Gastroenterology Fellow at Rochester Regional Health.
