I started my career at McKinsey & Company, where I was a top-rated consultant throughout my tenure. Alongside client work, I partnered closely with our recruiting team and even worked on an internal recruiting project, which gave me deep insight into exactly what consulting firms look for in candidates. I know the ins and outs of both the personal fit interview and the case interview, and I can share simple, effective frameworks that help you to sound highly structured without needing to memorize dozens of them. I’m also happy to run through live cases with you. With over 15 years of global management consulting experience at Strategy&, Kearney, and Deloitte, I offer a unique industry perspective. I began my career in technology consulting before pivoting to strategy consulting as a generalist after my Yale MBA, eventually specializing in healthcare as a Principal at Strategy&. In this role, I led national-level healthcare transformations and biotech strategy execution for sovereign entities, managing initiatives ranging from greenfield hospital feasibility to complex medical tourism strategies. Parallel to my client work, I have spent over a decade on the "other side" of the recruitment table, spearheading firm-wide recruiting transformations, delivering campus presentations, and interviewing a vast range of candidates from Analyst to Engagement Manager levels. I have also formally coached and mentored over a dozen consultants within my firms to help them navigate the nuances of the consulting hierarchy. I am passionate about helping aspiring consultants master case interviews, sharpen behavioral storytelling, and navigate the competitive consulting landscape. I’ve spent the past five years at Bain across both consulting and talent development. I began on the consulting side, leading teams for clients in healthcare, tech, and private equity, before transitioning into Talent Development. Most recently, I led Bain New York’s Associate Consultant Program, overseeing the development, performance, and advising of early-career consultants. I'm Maryam, a Wharton MBA (Class of 2026) and incoming BCG consultant in San Francisco, with prior experience advising Fortune 500 clients at Accenture. I've lived the consulting recruiting process from every angle: as a candidate who cracked it for the summer internship and got a return offer, and as someone who has spent years working with MBB consultants and knowing what the best firms look for. Breaking into management consulting is one of the most demanding recruiting processes out there, but more importantly, one of the most coachable. I’m currently an MBA candidate at Harvard Business School and will be joining McKinsey after graduation. I previously interned as a Summer Associate at McKinsey in their New York office and have additional experience at Deloitte Consulting, giving me firsthand insight into what top firms are looking for in candidates.
