With over 11 years in higher education at top US institutions such as NYU, Stanford, and UT Austin, I know what it takes for an application to stand out. As a former admissions staff member and campus leader, I’ve read applications, interviewed students, and helped universities share their stories with prospective applicants. I’m also an ICF-Certified Coach and graduate of NYU’s Executive Coaching and Organizational Consulting program. My approach combines admissions expertise with professional coaching techniques to help you identify your strengths, refine your essays, and present your most authentic story. My goal is to help you ensure that your application stands out as memorable and unique to you.

Pitchman and award-winning writer: I have successfully coached 300+ students in the college admissions process, so I understand the nuances of crafting standout applications for admissions committees. Among other things, I help with essay writing (my specialty), school selection, resume and interview preparation, and overall application strategy. I have an MBA, with a marketing concentration. I also have undergrad and grad degrees in writing, including from Northwestern, and I wrote and edited essays and human-interest stories for news outlets for more than 20 years. In addition, I've taught resume writing and interview prep at two junior colleges and helped students there apply to 4-year universities.

Herter Memorial Scholarship, I gained admission to every elite university I applied to, choosing Harvard University to study Social Anthropology and Economics. I became an Independent Educational Counselor when I noticed a dearth of college admissions counselors with their own STEM backgrounds and experience. I believe aspiring STEM majors deserve not just a counselor, but a mentor who’s been there and really understands them. I’ve combined my STEM education and career experience with deep knowledge of how to gain admission and succeed in today’s STEM higher education system to provide tailored services that meet the specific needs of STEM students. My Admissions Counseling services help families through the stressful process of applying to STEM college programs. I understand your aspiring STEM major far better than an ordinary counselor could. I serve as a role model and mentor for my students through this formative period, all for the same or less than generic counselors. I also leverage my massive network of STEM professionals, including college professors and industrial scientists and engineers, to make introductions for my students and obtain important perspectives and info about STEM majors, college programs, and careers.

When applying to college, my goal was to get into an Ivy League school. Throughout high school, I taught myself what I needed to do to achieve this, seeking resources and guidance everywhere I could find. Now, having attended, multiple top universities, I can use my extensive experience to guide others through the challenging but extremely rewarding process. I can advise on topics including developing a strategy for successful admissions (starting early in high school), preparing competitive application packages, and prepping for standardized testing and other requirements. Over the last nine admission cycles, I have supported more than 170 students globally, helping them earn 60+ Ivy League offers and acceptances to other top-tier U.S. and international institutions. My students have collectively secured upwards of 6 million USD in need-based and merit-based scholarships, significantly reducing the cost of their education.
