About Kevin

I grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning degrees in French and Political Science. Driven by a passion for international perspectives, I pursued a JD/LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from Duke University School of Law. After briefly practicing law, I quickly realized that my passion lay not in practicing it, but rather in helping others navigate their own educational and professional journeys. This realization prompted a meaningful career shift into university admissions and student advising—an area where I found my true calling. Over the past 15 years, I've accumulated extensive admissions experience, working closely with undergraduate, law, and MBA applicants from diverse backgrounds worldwide. My admissions experience spans prestigious institutions and roles, including Assistant Director of Recruitment and Admissions at the University of Chicago Booth Executive MBA program, Senior Lead Counsellor at AddedEducation, US Strategy Consultant at Crimson Education, and admissions counseling roles at various international colleges and universities. Having lived and worked in Hong Kong for more than a decade, I developed deep insights into how different cultures approach education and career planning. I've guided hundreds of students through successful applications, resulting in acceptances to top-tier institutions including Penn, Princeton, Yale, UC Berkeley, Columbia, and Brown. Now back in my hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina, I continue empowering students globally, leveraging my deep understanding of admissions processes and firsthand insights into what top schools seek in their applicants. Whether you're applying to undergraduate programs, top law schools, or elite MBA programs, I'm here to provide personalized, strategic guidance that highlights your unique strengths and authentic story.

Why do I coach?

I coach because I deeply understand the transformative power of education—and the stress and confusion that often accompany the admissions journey. Early in my career, I navigated the process largely on my own, without significant guidance. While I ultimately achieved my educational goals, I recognized that having a dedicated mentor or coach could have made my path smoother, clearer, and less stressful. Throughout my extensive admissions career, I've witnessed firsthand how targeted mentorship and strategic admissions coaching can profoundly impact students' paths—opening doors to opportunities they might not have thought possible. I find tremendous fulfillment in helping students clarify their ambitions, articulate their stories powerfully, and build applications that genuinely reflect their passions and strengths. For me, coaching is more than a profession; it's a personal commitment to giving students the kind of support and mentorship I wish I'd had. I believe each student has a unique narrative that deserves to be heard, understood, and championed. My goal as your admissions coach is not only to guide you successfully into your desired programs, but also to empower you with confidence, clarity, and lifelong skills for self-advocacy and strategic thinking.
