Hello! With over two decades of experience as an English teacher at a nationally ranked high school in Illinois, I've spent countless hours guiding students through the college application process, particularly in crafting compelling personal essays. As a Premium Consultant with Quad Education Group, I leverage a highly selective approach to help students gain admission to their dream schools, including Ivy League and other elite institutions. My unique insights stem from my time working with the University of Chicago's admissions committee, where I reviewed applications and conducted interviews. Having consulted with well over 100 students, I am passionate about helping each one develop authentic narratives and navigate the entire application journey. About Chris
NOTE: My rising senior roster is currently full. If you are younger and want to start consulting, please contact me. A Few Things About Me Beyond Admissions I have been happily married for 25 years, have two sons, and live in the Chicagoland area. I became a high school English teacher because several teachers had a lasting impact on me. I love exploring literature and the central questions of human experience, and I genuinely enjoy working with teenagers. I have also trained in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over tens years (yes, I'm a black belt). To me, Jiu Jitsu is a metaphor for both writing and life: progress comes through patience, problem-solving, trial and error, and the willingness to challenge yourself. Spending a summer in New Zealand at 17 sparked a lasting love of travel and the outdoors. I enjoy exploring a new place, spending time near mountains or water, and ending the day around a bonfire with people I love.
Why do I coach?
Honestly, this work is a vocation for me; it's something I’ve genuinely been called to do. I believe that once you discover your strengths, it’s your responsibility to cultivate them and use them to make a positive impact. For me, that means putting goodness into the world through education and mentorship. I’ve been an educator for 20+ years. I’ve taught thousands of teenagers and spent years helping students become more thoughtful, confident writers. Guiding students through the college application process is a natural extension of that work—bringing together my experience as a teacher, writing coach, and mentor. It is an honor to help young people recognize their strengths, articulate who they are, and move toward a future they have worked hard to build. Witnessing that growth is profoundly rewarding. This work is truly meaningful to me, and I cannot imagine doing anything else.
