About Amelia
I earned a math degree from UC Berkeley and completed graduate studies at Columbia University. After that, I worked in finance as an investment banker and financial software engineer. Yet, the desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners never left me. Eventually, I transitioned into education. I teach students from K–12 through college and have homeschooled my own children, who were admitted to highly selective universities. Over the years, I’ve also guided students in crafting personalized educational journeys and mentored them to discover their passions, strengthen their academics, and confidently navigate the college admissions process.
Why do I coach?
As a homeschool veteran, I know firsthand the challenges and opportunities that come with forging your own educational path. That's why I'm genuinely committed to supporting homeschoolers, non-traditional students, and brick-and-mortar students as they navigate academics, extracurriculars, summer programs, research opportunities, and the college admissions process. I take a personal approach by getting to know each student’s strengths, passions, and ambitions so I can help them craft a unique journey that is both fulfilling and competitive. More than just building strong applications, I want my students to be excited about learning and empowered about their future. My students have gained admission to Ivy League schools, highly selective colleges, UCs, and more. Seeing them thrive reminds me that success isn’t just about where you go, but about finding a path that’s truly yours.
