As a current MBA student at The Wharton School and a Master in Law candidate at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, I bring a unique blend of business and legal expertise to my coaching. Coming from a non-traditional background of public policy, I know how daunting it can be to apply to MBA programs. Prior to Wharton, I spent 5 years at the American Financial Services Association, where I advised consumer lending companies on state legislative and regulatory issues. I am also a disability inclusion advocate, serving on the board of a nonprofit called Full Spectrum Agency for Autistic adults. I am also the President of Wharton's Disability Empowerment & Action League. Before becoming a Leland coach, I have coached prospective students, helping them navigate the competitive MBA admissions process. I am especially excited to work with applicants from non-traditional backgrounds or who are passionate about disability. Hi everyone! I’m Sydney, a 2024 MBA graduate from Harvard Business School. Having been admitted to several M7 programs, I know how to shape a story that stands out in a highly competitive process. In my own applications, I successfully explained both a past career pivot - from Investment Banking to the less traditional field of Investor Relations - and my plans to pivot again after HBS into the business of sports. That dual experience gives me a unique perspective on how to craft essays and interviews that clearly frame both where you’ve been and where you want to go. I also work closely with applicants to determine whether business school is the right fit, and if it is, how to approach the journey with confidence and clarity.

I began coaching graduate school applicants in 2013, while leading Corporate Fellowship recruiting for Wake Forest's M.S. in Management program. After being admitted to HBS, I was selected by my Section C peers as an Admissions Representative and elected by classmates in the African-American Student Union as the Admissions Ambassador. In these roles, I partnered with the HBS Admissions Office to host tours, connect prospective students with the community, and provide feedback on applications and essays. I served in both capacities for 2 years. Over the past seven years, I've also coached more than 20 MBA candidates on application strategy, narrative development, and resume refinement, helping them earn admission to top programs including HBS, CBS, GSB, Wharton, Tuck, and Georgetown.
