I have always loved writing and crafting a compelling story. I worked in the Office of the CEO at BlackRock for several years, managing both the CEO and the firm’s narrative, and I understand how to appeal to a professional audience while finding space for personality and passion to shine through. I managed my own MBA application process and was admitted to Stanford, Harvard, and Wharton. I received feedback from the admissions counselors at each school and was able to overcome weaknesses in my application through my storytelling and interview skills. I’ve helped clients, friends and peers navigate the process including everything from time management and confidence building to narrative crafting and storytelling. The MBA process is incredibly unique and difficult, and I am excited to help people find their voice and stand out amongst a crowd!

I applied only to Stanford GSB, in Round 3, and got in — without any external help or review. I built my application from the ground up, relying on reflection, storytelling, and clarity about what I wanted to say. Hey there! I'm Katie—I earned dual MBA/MPA degrees at Stanford GSB and SPIA, and coach admissions for MBA, MPA, and fellowship programs for graduate and undergraduate students. I can't wait to meet you and learn more about how we can turn your dreams into achievable goals, together. I grew up in Tennessee, and got life-changing opportunities to gain a higher education through three fully-paid programs: the Jefferson Scholarship, the Knight-Hennessy Scholarship, and Princeton SPIA's funded MPA program. I've successfully navigated admissions to multiple MBA and MPA programs, and have weighed virtually every combination of joint degree and fellowship program out there. I know how high-stakes these application processes can feel, and how important it is to develop an application and interview in a way that reflects what you uniquely bring to the table. Beyond my own experience, I've spent six years serving on scholarship and admissions selection committees. I've seen how reviewers read applications, what makes essays memorable, and how candidates can avoid common obstacles in the process. I've coached +20 students through every stage of the process—from preparing for standardized tests and identifying the right programs, to crafting compelling narratives and preparing for interviews that feel authentic. Beyond working in investment policy, I love exploring running routes through my new hometown of San Francisco, dabbling on the piano, playing tennis at the park up the street, and hosting dinner parties with my wife.

I worked in Emory University's Admission Office for four years, where I recruited and read applications from students across the country. In particular, I developed a keen ability to support ideating, drafting, and editing personal statements and supplemental essays. I also earned my M.Ed. degree from Harvard's Graduate School of Education, and in the past two cycles, I have coached undergrad and MBA applicants 1:1 with successful outcomes across the board.
