I had big dreams in undergrad: get into an M7 business school. But, I had no connections, no target background, and no clue how to get there. I share this because if I can do it, you can too. As an alum of Harvard Business and Kennedy Schools, I navigated multiple graduate degree admissions processes. I’ve worked with candidates who have successfully applied to Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, MIT, and other top MBA programs. I started my career at Bain & Company and then worked in tech (biz ops and growth) before grad school. I have been closely involved in civic and public service opportunities including working at the US Treasury and serving as a State Delegate prior to school. While in my three-year MPP and MBA program, I worked in Venture Capital and Growth Equity investing at Norwest Venture Partners, Floodgate Ventures, and Summit Partners. I now run Growth Strategy @ Carta, a $7B tech co in Silicon Valley. I coach in my spare time because I love helping candidates distill their stories and present the best version of themselves to adcoms! When I applied, my partner was also interested in an MBA -- we wanted to maximize our chances of living in the same city during school, which led us to deeply research and contact admissions and alumni at all top 7 MBA programs to ensure we understood how we would be evaluated. After hundreds of hours of research myself, there is nothing I love more than being able to share that knowledge strategically & concisely with applicants. I particularly enjoy working with dual-degree candidates, candidates with public/non-profit sector experience and candidates interested in emerging tech and Venture Capital. As someone who applied with a partner, I can also speak to how various degree programs consider partner applications and strategy around managing dual-MBA families.

I read MBA applications for the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley; I sat on the UT Austin MBA Student Admissions Committee when I was earning my MBA; and I've been a recruiter for top tech companies in the SF Bay Area. I received a full Consortium fellowship to complete my MBA and was also named a Forte Fellow. This coupled with my over 10 years in college admissions make me uniquely qualified to offer a diverse and informed perspective on putting together a strong application.

As a Product Manager at Microsoft, I bring a unique perspective to MBA coaching. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where I was a College Honors Merit Scholar and a Grace Hopper Scholar. As a college senior, I applied and was admitted to top business schools across the country, including Wharton, MIT Sloan, and Columbia Business School. Despite being from an overrepresented demographic, I managed to get accepted into all three programs that I applied for (INSEAD, Oxford, and Berkeley). Additionally, I had major financial and time constraints because I already had 2 children (at the age of 28!) before applying to business school. I'm not a naturally good test-taker so I had to be both efficient and creative to pull this off. I was able to get into these programs because I'm strategic, resourceful, and know how to craft a story with the audience in mind. I have a lot of experience teaching/training and am excited to help you craft your story and demonstrate to admission committees that you are unique and that you have a lot of value to add to their programs.

As a Wharton MBA graduate who came from a non-traditional background and a non-target undergraduate school, I know what it takes to break into top MBA programs without the typical resume. I didn’t have a brand-name employer or Ivy League degree—and I still earned a spot at one of the world’s most competitive business schools. That journey taught me how to craft a powerful narrative, highlight unconventional strengths, and position unique experiences as assets.
