I take a humanistic, there's a school/program-for-everyone approach to college coaching. I've previously worked in admissions at Ivy League schools and in student affairs. I've also I've coached students, from first-year's in high school to seniors that got into Penn, Cornel and MIT, to name a few. I care about getting to know you so that we can find schools that aren't just the "best programs," but the "right fit." Ultimately, if don't enjoy life outside the classroom, you're more likely to be miserable inside the classroom. So let's work together to find a school where you'll fit in the classroom, on the campus and in the community! Outside of coaching, I'm an avid sports fan, a huge fan of the city of Philadelphia, a (bit of a) gamer, a reader, a (somewhat) reformed tv/movie junkie and have two rescue pets. Let's get at it!

I am a recent graduate of Durham University (Geography), finishing 4th in my year with a First Class (78), and I went on to complete a Master’s at the University of Cambridge, graduating 11th in my year with a Distinction (76). Because I have moved through the admissions system recently, my guidance is grounded in what selectors are looking for now, not legacy playbooks. Being the daughter of immigrations, oldest of three siblings AND a first generation college student here in the US, you could say that I had a lot of hurdles to jump over when I was applying to undergrad. Having my residency status stacked against me as an international student, I discovered the hard way how difficult getting into a competitive undergrad program could be when you do not have the right tools to help yourself. Since then, I have always made an effort to work with high school students specifically so that I can pay forward everything that I learned. While i was able to figure things out on my own - there was so much struggle that I would not wish on anyone else. Whether you are a citizen or not, I would be happy to help guide you through the undergraduate application process. We can discuss schools to apply too and work on your application and essays together to give you the best chances of getting into the school of your dreams.

College admissions can be incredibly daunting. I remember being in your shoes and wondering what I should write, where I should apply, and what to say during my interviews. Ten years later, I have been through this process several times now to gain admission to college and medical schools. My experience has taught me that it is incredibly important to spend time reflecting on your goals and how your background has helped you formulate them. While I was preparing for my university applications, I recognized that one of the most important components of the application is the essay and having a hook in extracurricular activities. It's not the GPA/SAT score like many believe (which in actuality is only a checkbox for the admissions committee). I was able to fully understand how the admissions committee evaluates an application after reading my Stanford application and the admission committee comments on there. Beyond the basics of the application from helping with SAT prep and extracurricular planning, I will focus my time on being able to translate your extracurricular activities into a meaningful essay and supplementals.
