I had a lot of varied interests in high school from robotics to debate, and when it came time for college applications, I had no idea what I wanted to do in the future. I was interested in the collaborative nature of business, enjoyed hands-on building with engineering, and also loved learning about current events and policy solutions through public policy. I spent a lot of time crafting a narrative that encompassed all my interests along a single thread, and spent effort creating individual supplements for each school. At the end of the day, my effort paid off and when it came time to choose between acceptances, I had gotten into Georgia Tech for Aerospace Engineering, NYU Stern for business, and Georgetown for public policy. I've since helped several others navigate the college application process with an emphasis on creating an essay and strategy that best reflects each student and their goals.

My diverse background includes roles as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Stanford Medicine and a board member for US Biathlon, where I honed my skills in leadership and mentorship. I take a highly supportive approach to coaching and aim to create an environment in which my clients can be completely open about their worries so I can be the best possible coach for them. That said, you can expect me to be constructively candid – because coaching is about challenging you and accelerating your growth, not making you feel good so I can collect a check. Besides sitting on Northwestern's alumni admissions council, I was an interviewer at both Google and Facebook, so I've spent many hours "on the other side of the table" and can give you a strong sense for how you might be perceived by interviewers and admissions committees. I enjoy coaching people from a huge range of backgrounds, but I specialize in coaching folks from lower-income families, LGBTQ+ candidates, and those from unconventional backgrounds trying to thrive in tech. I myself came from a low-income family and needed help getting connected to resources that would make college feasible for me – I can help you do the same.

College admissions can feel overwhelming—especially if you don’t have family members or mentors who’ve gone through the process before. I’m passionate about making the application and college decision journey clearer, more accessible, and less intimidating, particularly for first-generation students and anyone who feels like they’re figuring it out on their own. As an educator, I’ve spent years helping students discover their strengths, set meaningful goals, and express their ideas with confidence. Those same skills are at the heart of writing strong essays, completing applications, and choosing schools that truly fit who you are and where you want to go. I know how powerful it can be when someone breaks the process down step by step, and I strive to make each part feel manageable, understandable, and even exciting. I also bring experience from working in university Disability Services, where I supported college students in navigating complex systems, advocating for themselves, and accessing the resources they needed to succeed. That work gave me a deeper understanding of how colleges really work—and what helps students thrive once they arrive, not just what helps them get admitted.
