Hi everyone — I was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company for over 3 years. Unlike a lot of folks, I didn’t come in with a business background. I only took one business class in undergrad and had zero business internships. You can fact-check that on my LinkedIn. I didn’t intern at McKinsey either — I actually applied after a public policy role I had didn’t turn out the way I hoped. Here’s how I can help: I landed the McKinsey offer as a non-traditional applicant from a non-feeder school. If someone like me can break through with the right prep, so can you. As a coach, my first goal is simple: to get you to genuinely believe that you can earn an offer from a top-tier firm like McKinsey, Bain, or BCG. From there, we build a game plan together. I’ve spent years learning the recruiting process inside and out — I still stay connected with current and former recruiters — and I use that insight to coach applicants into offers. I’ve helped friends and former colleagues land roles at McKinsey and other top firms. I lead with clarity, purpose, and compassion. I also work with folks who are already in the firm — helping them chart a clear path, decode feedback, and build a career that’s both strategic and sustainable. I don’t sugarcoat things. I’ll give you the honest truth about what’s going on, what’s working, and what needs to change. At the end of the day, I’m just a chill dude who’s been through the highs and lows of this journey. Hello! I'm Mervi, a current Associate Consultant at Bain & Company, where I work on tech, consumer / retail, and private equity due diligences. My journey in consulting began with a summer internship at L.E.K. Consulting, and currently am a Senior Associate Consultant at Bain. I've been passionate about helping others break into this competitive field and am an active member of the UC Berkeley recruiting team, helping with on-campus recruitment and resume selection. In the fall, I will be starting my MBA at the Wharton School of Business, so also happy to speak and provide guidance on those looking to get their MBA as I have recently gone through the process myself. I've successfully coached 5+ individuals, guiding them through the intricacies of the consulting application process, including case interviews and resume review. I joined Bain as an Associate Consultant and stayed until I became a Manager. In the meantime, I managed to get transferred twicce (from Dubai to Los Angeles to Washington DC) and get sponsored to study my MBA. My global and long-term experience at Bain has helped me understand the ins and outs of consulting. I have used this experience to help applicants (including my MBA peers) get offers at Bain & Company.

I have extensive experience with consulting case prep and behavioral interview practice. My clients have landed internships and full time offers at MBB and other top strategy consulting firms.

I worked in management consulting for five years across a variety of roles - as a Business Analyst, Engagement Manager, and in the office of the CEO at McKinsey & Company. I was also able to do a secondment at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for a year. At McKinsey, I was a Faculty member who led first and second-year analyst trainings and conducted hundreds of hours of interview coaching. And in college at the University of Michigan, I peer coached dozens of students to offers at McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Accenture, Strategy&, and Deloitte.

I’ve spent four years at Deloitte Consulting, where I collaborated with Deloitte’s recruiting team to design case interviews, develop evaluation rubrics, and coach candidates through the process. Having seen exactly how firms evaluate talent, I know what it takes to stand out, and I’ve helped dozens of candidates through the recruiting process, many of whom went on to land offers at top firms. I hold an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Annie worked as a Consulting Peer Advisor at the University of Michigan's University Career Center, where she provided comprehensive feedback to 10+ students weekly on mock behavioral and consulting case interviews. She helped 7 students secure an internship or full-time offer after continuous preparation and mentorship to the students, and had a client satisfaction rating of 100%. Annie has been through the consulting preparation stages in college when she applied for the Big 3 and Big 4 firms, and she has experience casing with partners and associates from McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Pwc, Deloitte, and many other boutique consulting firms.
