I've earned a perfect 170 on the GRE Verbal section twice in the past 6 months, and I'm excited to help others reach that same level of mastery. I've worked with high-quality tutors myself, and I bring the best of those methods - combined with my own deep understanding of the test - to every session. Professionally, I'm a Georgetown graduate and strategy consultant at BCG. I've mentored over 300 students in the past across a range of disciplines, and am now focused on GRE Verbal tutoring to fund my own grad school ambitions and offer a rare skillset at below-market rates. My intuitive, common-sense approach to the GRE has helped numerous students score 320+ since 2012. I emphasize comprehension rather than memorization: Instead of just giving you rules to remember, I help you figure out why they work. There's no magic formula that makes the GRE easy, but with my techniques, it won't feel too hard. A good GRE tutor should meet students where they are, and I always strive to do this. If you know a concept but struggle to apply it to certain tricky problems, I can help you with that. Alternatively, if you need something explained from the ground up, I can help with that too. I am flexible enough to work within your mental framework, rather than imposing something completely unfamiliar. My goal is to find explanations and methods that work for you, even if they aren’t entirely standard. I'll make sure to warn you if you're heading in a wrong direction, but for the most part I view GRE tutoring as an opportunity to help you leverage skills that you already have. I've found this to be a very rewarding process, and I think you will too!

Having worked as a mentor / coach for the Global Governance Initiative throughout my consulting career and applied to top graduate degrees myself, I understand what it takes to hit your target score. Despite having a very limited quant background, I got a perfect score on my first try on the Verbal Reasoning section (170) and a high enough Quantitative Reasoning score (162) to get me interviews at Yale, Harvard, and Berkeley.

After scoring in the 99th percentile to gain admission to Claremont Graduate University for an Econ PhD, I decided to share my knowledge and techniques with my tutees.
