As a former Kearney consultant and Wharton/Lauder admissions insider, I help candidates cut through the noise and present their authentic selves—because the best business leaders aren’t carbon copies. My approach blends 7+ years of management consulting rigor with hands-on recruiting and admissions experience. At Kearney, I led teams through complex transformations while honing my talent-spotting skills through recruiting efforts (turns out identifying great candidates isn’t so different from building high-performing consulting teams). And as a Wharton Admissions Fellow, I learned what really makes applications click (hint: it’s not just GMAT scores or fancy job titles). I strongly believe that diverse perspectives fuel innovation—a principle I now bring to my advisory work. As a Wharton Admissions Fellow and Lauder interviewer, I saw firsthand how powerful storytelling can bridge gaps in representation. I’m particularly passionate about helping underrepresented candidates navigate the MBA maze. I am well-versed in global cultural immersion: I hold an MBA from Wharton and a Master of Arts in International Studies from Lauder, as well as Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communications and French from the University of Pennsylvania. Fluent in English, Mandarin, and French, I’ve seen how languages and identities shape leadership, and thus can help candidates turn their unique experiences into competitive advantages. Coming from a non-target undergraduate institution and non-target work place I secured admission at MIT and Harvard and know how difficult it is to do so. I can help you tell your story and really stand out. I make things accessible and break them down into bite sized goals to help you put your best foot forward. While in my MBA program I worked at Bridgewater Associates and then had offers from Goldman Sachs TMT SF and Morgan Stanley Tech Investment banking groups. I also won the P.D. Soros Fellowship for New Americans (1% acceptance rate, $90,000) and the Zuckerman Fellowship (full ride at Harvard + Stanford), which helped fund a large part of my graduate degree.

I was invited to interview with all four MBA programs to which I applied (Wharton, HBS, Booth, and Sloan), and I completed this process not too long ago.

With an MBA from Oxford's Said Business School and a Master in Public Policy from Oxford's Blavatnik School of Government, I bring a blend of business and social impact into my coaching. My professional journey includes roles at Bain & Company, The Global Fund, and the Inter-American Development Bank, where I focused on finance and strategy. I successfully mentored and coached individuals in the MBA process, from navigating and selecting which MBA were the best "fit" (1 year, 2 year, or part-time MBA programs, dual or joint degrees; in the US, UK, or Europe), providing guidance in their application (e.g., reviewing CV or resumes, personal statements or essays) and preparing for interviews for Oxford SBS and other MBA programs in the US. Additionally, I provide support in applying for graduate scholarships, including MBA scholarships, as a scholar and recipient of highly competitive programs. I was admitted to Booth, Kellogg (MMM Program), and Wharton, all on merit scholarships ranging from 25-75% tuition coverage. I was an Admissions Fellow at Wharton, speaking to and interviewing over 300 candidates.

I'm Maryam, an MBA candidate at Wharton (Class of 2026), where I received a merit scholarship. I will be working at BCG in San Francisco after school.
