For 10 years, the Harvard Business School MBA felt like a distant dream. I didn’t come from a target school, a brand-name firm, or a background admissions committees are used to saying “yes” to. No one from my undergrad, master’s, or organization had ever gone to HBS. Coming from an over-represented pool made it even harder. But I still got in. I did it by understanding what elite MBA programs actually look for and by crafting a story that stood out in a sea of similar profiles. Today, I coach applicants from non-traditional and over-represented backgrounds to do the same. I’ve walked this path myself. I’ll help you walk it smarter.

Coaching others for their development is what I do best and the thread that runs throughout my entire career. As an educator, I coached students in developing & sharing their stories and supporting them in their personal growth, including coaching two high school clients to admission at the University of Pennsylvania and Georgia Tech, both clients' first choice schools. At the Stanford GSB, I spend most of my extracurricular time coaching others in personal narrative development as a TALK Coach, where I coach dozens of classmates on preparing and sharing their stories with the rest of their classmates. I coach for those who are in education & social impact and are considering pursuing an MBA to expand their impact or pivot. I earned admission to MBA programs at the Stanford GSB, Wharton, Chicago Booth, and Yale's SOM and would be thrilled to help you craft your personal narrative in a way that appeals to admissions officers.

I was invited to interview with all four MBA programs to which I applied (Wharton, HBS, Booth, and Sloan), and I completed this process not too long ago.

I applied to a broad range of top programs and was admitted to every school I applied to (4 M7 and 10 T15), despite having a sub-par undergraduate GPA and a non-traditional background. Now, I’ve been on both sides of the process. Most recently, I served on the Chicago Booth Admissions Committee, where I reviewed 100s of applications, interviewed candidates, and saw firsthand how this are evaluated internally (NOTE: It’s a far more structured and methodical process than most applicants realize!) I work selectively with motivated applicants who want honest, direct feedback and a clear strategy from someone who has navigated the process successfully and understands how decisions are actually made.

As a Harvard graduate and Columbia Business School MBA Candidate who has built a career in financial services (investment banking and private equity), I am confident in my ability to direct prospective students to successful outcomes and to help them secure spots at their dream school. Hi! I'm a Harvard MBA graduate and received admission through the deferred admit / 2+2 program (with a GMAT of 760). I've had a diverse set of work experiences both before HBS (venture capital, social activism, government) and since (Goldman Sachs, The Economist, and now transitioning into creative work / poetry). I love coaching people and particularly enjoy helping international students, and students from unconventional or underrepresented backgrounds. Funnily I've also had a lot of experience getting rejected from places (across sectors and regions!) - which has taught me a lot about what works, and what doesn't -- and how to stay sane through it all :)

As a recent graduate of UC Berkeley's MBA/MPH program, I’m passionate about helping others achieve their personal and professional aspirations. When I applied to MBA programs, I worried that my non-linear career path and undergraduate grades would hold me back.
