I am currently a 3L student at University of Pennsylvania Law School. I was accepted off the waitlist in May 2023; before I committed to Penn, I was planning on attending UCLA Law. At Penn, I was awarded the Leader of the Year Award for my pro bono work my 2L year, received my Wharton Certificate in Management, and was a Wharton McNulty Nonprofit Board Fellow with Jounce Partners. I am the Development Editor for the Journal of Constitutional Law and led both the Pardon Project and Democracy Law Project (the two largest pro bono projects at Penn). Before law school, I worked for three years -- I was on the 2020 Biden Campaign and then worked in the Administration at the U.S. Department of Health of Human Services in the Secretary's Office. I have mentored four people through the law school waitlist process, drawing on my own experience of being initially waitlisted at Penn. When I applied to law school, I was working long hours and was not a natural test taker, so I focused on leveraging my professional experience and presenting my story in the strongest possible way. That approach earned me admission to UCLA Law (a T14 school) through my personal statement and essays, and later, I was accepted off the waitlists at both Georgetown Law and Penn Law before starting 1L. Since then, I have coached four applicants through the same process, helping them strategically navigate their waitlists. Each of them ultimately secured admission to their top-choice school, along with several others. I hope to continue using my experience to help future applicants maximize their chances of success.

Daniel Khalessi served as President of the Stanford Law Review and is a startup and venture capital lawyer at Sidley Austin LLP in San Francisco. He is passionate about helping others turn their personal experiences into powerful stories and achieve their dreams. Having lost his Dad at a young age, Daniel understands what it is like to overcome challenges. A product of Bay Area public schools, Daniel earned a B.A. from Stanford, M.A. in Global Affairs from Yale, M.A. in Economics (China Studies) from Peking University, and his J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he served as a Teaching Assistant in constitutional law and earned prizes for outstanding performance. He previously worked as a startup lawyer at Latham & Watkins LLP and as a China analyst at Harvard's Belfer Center.

I am a Yale Law School, Bain & Co., and Yale College alum who is passionate about helping applicants tell their stories. As someone who navigated the nuances of competitive admissions alone, I understand the frustration of feeling overwhelmed by forum posts, wondering what to make of conflicting information, and puzzling over how generic advice applied to my unique situation. I am the Founder and Principal Consultant of CW Admissions, drawing on experience guiding more than 100 applicants through the law school admissions process across national admissions consulting organizations and nonprofit initiatives, as well as experience as an application reader at a top-ten law school. My work focuses on application strategy, narrative development, and overall positioning. I help applicants identify their strongest themes, evaluate whether their materials are working at the admissions level, and understand how their applications function as a whole. Beyond initial submissions, I advise clients on post-submission strategy, including waitlist communications, letters of continued interest, and scholarship negotiation. My approach is highly individualized and coach-driven, with an emphasis on judgment, clarity, and thoughtful decision-making in a competitive admissions landscape.

I'm a Yale University graduate and incoming student of the Stanford Law School class of 2028. I served as a Marine Corps officer in the four years after graduating Yale where I learned how to lead teams and developed discipline and mental toughness . I have extensive experience working with students to get into college and graduate programs through the nonprofit Rawan Mentorship. I was admitted to several top law schools with full-ride scholarships, and participated in several prestigious pre-law fellowships. I am uniquely equipped to support students with a goal of attending law school directly from undergrad (KJD), because I did so myself! After graduating from Cal Lutheran in just 3 years, I was an SEO Law Fellow before starting at Georgetown, where I am now working with our Corporate and Financial Law Organization, our Entertainment Law Society, and our International Economic Law Society. In addition, I am a student ambassador for our admissions office, and a panelist for our early outreach program.
