About Josh
I'm a Barry Scholar at the University of Oxford, where I'm reading for an MPhil in Politics. After completing my MPhil, I'll attend Yale Law School. Before Oxford, I studied American studies, history, and politics at Brigham Young University, where I graduated summa cum laude. Coming from a single-parent, relatively low-income household, I never thought I'd win a national scholarship or gain admittance to a top law school. I hope I can help you achieve your loftiest goals! My expertise: I'm an award-winning author, having won both departmental and university-wide writing contests; I also worked as the editor-in-chief of a scholarly journal. In addition to Yale Law School, I was admitted to Harvard, Stanford, Chicago, Columbia, Duke, Virginia, Georgetown, and BYU. Chicago awarded me the Rubenstein Scholarship (full-tuition plus $20,000/year stipend), Columbia offered me the Hamilton Fellowship (full-tuition), and BYU and Virginia also offered me scholarships. When I was nearing my graduation date, I was nominated for the Barry Scholarship, which fully funds the pursuit of any advanced degree at the University of Oxford and provides a generous living stipend. The Barry is awarded to around a dozen students in the United States each year. I was admitted to three graduate programs at Oxford.
