With over 9 years of experience as the Founder and Head Tutor at Harvard Tutors, I have coached 400+ students to achieve their college admissions goals. As a high school student, I received admission offers from all of the Ivy League colleges I applied to (Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, U Penn). I graduated from Harvard College with a BA in English in 2014. I'm proud to say that my students themselves have received offers from all of the Ivy League colleges + MIT and Stanford, and won over $35k in scholarships! As an English concentrator at Harvard, I specialized in creative writing (fiction & poetry) and took part in highly competitive writing seminars with esteemed writers such as Jamaica Kincaid, Jorie Graham, Bret Johnston, and Joshua Bell. I have helped students with diverse backgrounds and writing styles produce dazzling, funny, inspiring, and out-of-the box admissions essays that have helped them gain admission and generous scholarship awards. (marketing & technical project management). I led resume reviews, interviews, and hiring decisions across all levels at each of these companies. On the college front, I was privileged to attend the University of Southern California (USC) on a merit scholarship. I majored in Economics and also graduated from their prestigious Thematic Option honors program. I've since supported several students through their own application processes, helping them craft compelling narratives, strategically position their applications, and prepare for interviews. While I have significant experience in various industries, I’m most passionate about technology, entrepreneurship, finance, and retail / consumer brands. I take a highly supportive approach to coaching and aim to create an environment in which my clients can be completely open about their worries so I can be the best possible coach for them. That said, you can expect me to be constructively candid – because coaching is about challenging you and accelerating your growth, not making you feel good so I can collect a check. Besides sitting on Northwestern's alumni admissions council, I was an interviewer at both Google and Facebook, so I've spent many hours "on the other side of the table" and can give you a strong sense for how you might be perceived by interviewers and admissions committees. I enjoy coaching people from a huge range of backgrounds, but I specialize in coaching folks from lower-income families, LGBTQ+ candidates, and those from unconventional backgrounds trying to thrive in tech. I myself came from a low-income family and needed help getting connected to resources that would make college feasible for me – I can help you do the same.

I’m passionate about making the application and college decision journey clearer, more accessible, and less intimidating, particularly for first-generation students and anyone who feels like they’re figuring it out on their own. I also bring experience from working in university Disability Services, where I supported college students in navigating complex systems, advocating for themselves, and accessing the resources they needed to succeed.
