I help students applying to CS, engineering, and tech-adjacent undergraduate programs build applications that show both intellectual curiosity and real-world direction. My perspective comes from a technical master's degree from Nanyang Technological University and 15+ years in global tech, product, and operations roles at Amazon, Rakuten, and FedEx. I work with students and families on school list strategy, activity and project positioning, personal statements, supplemental essays, resume or activities lists, recommendation strategy, and interview prep. I am especially useful when a student has coding projects, robotics or research, competitions, startups, internships, or cross-cultural experience but needs help turning that raw material into a coherent admissions story. I coach in English, Japanese, and Chinese and can support applicants targeting universities in the US, UK, and Asia.

About Nanpu

I help ambitious international applicants and tech professionals turn complex experience into a clear, compelling story. I am a Senior Product Manager at Amazon with 15+ years across Amazon, Rakuten, and FedEx, and a technical master's degree in Communication Software & Networks from Nanyang Technological University. That mix is my coaching edge: I understand technical depth, business impact, product thinking, global teams, and the way decision-makers evaluate signal. I coach across MBA applications, CS/engineering/data science master's applications, engineering-focused college applications, and product or tech-career interview prep. My work is practical and strategic: we clarify positioning, choose the right examples, sharpen resumes/CVs, strengthen essays and statements of purpose, prepare recommendation strategy, and practice interview answers until your story feels specific, confident, and memorable. I am based in Tokyo and coach in English, Japanese, and Chinese. I am especially useful for international candidates, career switchers, and applicants whose background spans countries, functions, or technical and business work.

Why do I coach?

I coach because strong candidates often lose opportunities not because they lack substance, but because their story is hard to understand quickly. Admissions readers and interviewers are looking for signal: judgment, motivation, leadership potential, fit, and evidence that you can succeed in the next environment. My role is to help you find that signal in your own experience and communicate it with discipline. I benefited from mentors throughout my own cross-border career, and I know how much clarity matters when you are making a big move. I coach to make that process less lonely, less generic, and more actionable, so clients leave with a story they can stand behind in applications, resumes, recommendations, and interviews.
