I'm Maryam, a Wharton MBA (Class of 2026) and incoming BCG consultant in San Francisco, with prior experience advising Fortune 500 clients at Accenture. I've lived the consulting recruiting process from every angle: as a candidate who cracked it for the summer internship and got a return offer, and as someone who has spent years working with MBB consultants and knowing what the best firms look for. I’m a former strategy consultant with four years of experience at L.E.K. Consulting, where I also supported recruiting and candidate assessment. Prior to joining L.E.K., I went through the full management consulting recruitment process myself, receiving offers from Monitor Deloitte, Nous Group, EY-Parthenon, and KPMG Strategy. I recruited from a non-target university and come from multiple under-represented backgrounds, including being LGBTQ+, first-generation and low-income, and from a refugee background. I bring both insider knowledge of how consulting firms assess candidates and a deep understanding of how to navigate the process without traditional advantages.

I spent 3 years at McKinsey & Company, in the Chicago and Nairobi offices. I was among the first cohort of BAs ever trained to be case interviewers. I then spent 2 years interviewing on behalf of offices in the US, Europe, and Africa for roles ranging from summer interns through advanced/mid-career hires. Prior to becoming an interviewer, I led sourcing, resume reviews, and coaching across several recruiting cycles for intern and full-time candidates at the undergraduate and advanced degree levels. As a coach, I've helped successful MBB applicants land internships, entry-level, and post-MBA roles after working with them to perfect resumes, networking strategies, and behavioral stories, as well as nailing the case.
