I worked with Matt to prepare for my interview. He was knowledgeable about the possible questions and tailored them to my resume. He helped highlight the strong points in my work experience and guided me towards discussing them. His school-specific knowledge about Darden also helped particularly. Would highly recommend him!

A little bit about me: I reached out to Dione while stuck in the job application process, looking to get into GSB as a non-traditional candidate to jump-start my career. Dione was kind, helpful, and most importantly, honest about what my path forward could look like. She gives you a comprehensive reflection packet to fill out, which was valuable for me in understanding my perspective and what I was looking for in my next steps. From my conversations with Dione, I received some great career direction and ideas on how to position myself strategically. She gave me multiple paths forward, including plans with and without business school. I was able to take Dione's strategy and started building a stronger network and foundation to improve my prospects. I started getting attractive interview offers and decided that business school wasn't the right step for me after all. All that's to say, I told Dione what I wanted (to get into GSB), but got something better instead (a comprehensive plan to further my career). I truly appreciated the tailor-made approach that Dione took in our coaching sessions and would happily recommend her to anyone thinking about business school. She is knowledgeable and realistic, exactly what I believe any great coach should be.

Sowa was there for me during every step of the application process, from initial introspection to writing essays to ensure that I have a comprehensive application. She helped me dig deep into what really mattered to me, why it meant so much, and how that manifested in my life. Without Sowa, I couldn’t have connected my story as clearly between my seemingly unrelated life events. She guided me to tell my unique story, go deeper draft after draft, and tie my detailed experiences to the bigger picture of what I’m trying to accomplish. Through working with Sowa, I feel that I have fresh clarity on what I want to do and a moving narrative that’s tied to my career goals.

Allie has been instrumental in my application process from initial introspection to writing essays. She’s incisive in her comments, raising the quality of my writing and making sure that the connections in my essays were very clear and actually spoke to what admissions were asking for. On top of that, Allie was flexible to my needs, and helped me through both live sessions and asynchronous edits— She ensured that my ideas and who I am shone through uniquely while achieving the rare balance of appealing to the schools as well, especially for Wharton. Ask great question, willing to walk you through the details to help you achieve your goals

I met Michael through LinkedIn, where he initially promoted and led free Leland workshops for the Schwarzman Scholars program, where he shared some pointers. As the deadline approached, I continued feeling stuck on two essays. I decided to set up a consultation/brainstorming session with Michael. If I could go back in time, I wish I would have contacted Michael sooner! Michael truly is a one-of-a-kind mentor!! He truly knows the process and makes himself accessible to help his students succeed and is prompt with responding or sharing feedback. To begin, he genuinely demonstrates enthusiasm at each session, and a willingness to help you. During the first session, he genuinely wanted to get to know me individually, not as a number. Never did I feel rushed as I tried to find the right words to articulate my questions. Additionally, Michael has a way of being understanding and someone very easy to talk to. No question is too silly, he genuinely is like a "brother". I was able to express my concerns or hesitations for the application, or be honest, that I was struggling with two essays, and he is free of judgment, always offering me words of encouragement and motivation! He always messages to check in on how your progress is with your essays, thus, it shows he cares and is invested in his students' success! After our first session, he provided me with some handouts which helped me with organizing the ideas I initially brainstormed. I am utterly impressed with the amount and quality of feedback from Michael. Why? His feedback style. Rather than solely tweaking word choice and reducing word count, he really went above and beyond! He provides you with constructive feedback with the intention of helping you become a better writer, hone in on your voice and your story, and reflect deeper. With each essay, he let me know if I was answering the prompt and how strong the essay was. I knew before I shared my first draft that a particular essay I wrote was weak. The constructive feedback I received was whether it addressed the prompt or not, what I was excelling in or what I was missing on. Additionally, we looked at parts of the essay that could be salvaged for iterations. Lastly, what I really appreciate Michael is how he did not leave me hanging with my thoughts all confused or further lost in the process after his feedback. He clearly explains each of his comments in details, and offered ideas to help me to think deeper of the prompts or of my story. All I can say is that if you come across Michael's Leland profile, do not think twice. I highly highly recommend him!! He will be a great mentor who is invested in seeing you succeed. He provides excellent feedback and provides you with encouragement along the way!!!
