Hello! I’m Rouhin, a highly experienced GRE tutor with over a decade of proven success helping students achieve top results. I’ve earned perfect scores on the SAT, SAT Math II, GRE Quant, GMAT Quant, and ACT Math, and I’ve guided students in reaching their own top scores — including perfect scores — across GRE Quant and GMAT Quant. Between the actual exams, tryout exams for jobs, and personal diagnostic exams, I have never scored below 99th-percentile on the LSAT, GMAT, nor GRE. I started in the industry in 2002 with Kaplan, and founded my own company in 2005. I was one of Veritas's (acquired by Varsity Tutors as their elite program) first instructors and a go-to instructor for most of their existence, teaching literally coast-to-coast until moving off of their grid in 2017. Career highlights include successfully writing and then teaching my own LSAT course, teaching over a dozen GMAT classes at Booth School of Business at University of Chicago, and tutoring around Silicon Valley at locations such as the Google campus, Stanford, and the San Francisco Financial District. In short, I've taught and tutored thousands of students within the elite model used by Veritas, Manhattan, and others, in which the highest-scoring instructors teach in small classrooms and focus on higher-end analytic aspects of the exam. I wrote my own LSAT course, and I contributed to the highly-regarded Veritas course and books. My students have gone on to attend the best law and business schools in the world. It often happens that one's natural habits/practices form the strongest basis for excellence in a certain area -- a good reason for why none of my friends batted an eyelash when they heard I had begun training students in the GRE. Essentially the only books I ever read are the classics of Victorian age European and American literature, whose heightened word choices provide me with a unique appreciation/understanding for the vocabulary questions of the GRE (now a full 1/2 of the verbal questions!). But that's not all. I've had the privilege of training students in the GRE for around a decade, and am highly versed in the reading comprehension, logic, and quantitative questions. Perhaps that's why more than 60% of the students I take on are able to crank up their cumulative score by 12 points or more. Not only that, but 93% of my GRE students end up with thick envelopes -- the ones containing acceptance letters -- mailed to them by their first and second choices of grad school.

Having applied and been accepted into multiple graduated programs (MBA from Kellogg School of Management and MSc from the London School of Economics), I bring a wealth of knowledge and strategic insight to GRE preparation. I've taken the test multiple times and have firsthand experience seeing how one's score can increase with thoughtful, intentional, and dedicated preparation. Across 4 times I've taken the GRE, I've averaged a score of 330+ and have scored a 169 on verbal section (99th percentile) and 170 on the quant section (perfect score). I've also consistently scored 5s on the writing section if that is an area of focus. In preparing for my exams, I used many different resources (paid and unpaid) to polish and ameliorate the areas that needed improvement. Originally an academic, he holds advanced degrees from Yale, the University of Glasgow, and the University of Georgia, and since leaving academia he has taught, tutored, and written content for Magoosh, Kaplan, Harvard Prep, SuccessPrep, Parliament Tutors, Varsity Tutors, and many other companies, and has since founded his own company, Ivory Tower Tutoring. He was also, for many years, the chief writer for Barron''s GMAT product line.
