I've been coaching the GMAT for almost as long as distance learning has been around. However, my story really starts in 2006, the year I notched a nifty 770 on my GMAT and received a scholarship to the USC - Marshall School of Business. In the following years, I made the Graduate Dean's list in 3 semesters, and excelled at such courses as Microeconomics, Corporate Finance, and Statistics. My general academic interests fun rather parallel to the topics of the GMAT, and I sincerely feel that any incoming b-school student should have excellent capabilities in reading comprehension, argumentation, and college level quantitative skills. In the decade I've been coaching students in the GMAT, I've worked with nearly 250 people over a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, and thus have dozens of success stories from students who succeeded in increasing their scores by 100+ points! I have had a wide variety of students, but I would consider my niche to be veterans/active military, folks with learning disabilities, and those in search of a scholarship

The only way to do well on the GMAT and the GRE is to understand the material and to know how to answer the questions. Cheats and guessing strategies don’t work, and you can’t “beat” or “outsmart” the tests. I am a Certified Teacher who has taught the material that appears on these tests in school. MY APPROACH IS TO TEACH YOU THE CONCEPTS AND SKILLS YOU NEED TO ANSWER THE TEST QUESTIONS CORRECTLY. I scored in the 99th percentile on the GMAT and the SAT, and I have a thorough understanding of the tests. I am a writer, with excellent language skills. As a Certified Teacher, I have 20-plus years’ experience as a teacher, tutor, test prep coach, and business trainer. I am a former teacher of high school math – exactly the math that appears on the tests – and of English grammar and writing. I am a trained and certified teacher. I have a Bachelor of Education degree and Adult Education training. I also have an MBA and have worked on Wall St as a Vice President at a major financial institution, as well as in several other business and management positions.

I’m a deferred MBA admit to the Kellogg School of Management and scored a 715 on the GMAT Focus Edition — a 99th percentile result — after just under three months of self-prep. My goal as a coach is to help you optimize your study time, focus on high-yield strategies, and avoid the common pitfalls that waste time and lead to burnout. With a GMAT score of 740 (97th percentile), I successfully earned admission to the University of Oxford, where I completed dual Master’s degrees—an MBA and a Master’s in Public Policy. My GMAT preparation focused on mastering the essential maths rules, logic, and language skills needed for success, a method I now bring to my coaching. I got 4.0 in undergrad but I am not a standardized test taker. I studied for the GMAT for 1 year and wasted a ton of time studying the wrong thing. But, I managed to go from a 530 to a 730 (Q49) within 2 months of focused, guided effort from a coach and want to share that knowledge with you. The practice exam before my final test was a 760.

It took me months to beat the GMAT -- hours of countless studying with little results. Not until did I understand the anatomy of the test did I finally get a score that landed me at Wharton. I can help coach you to get the score you need to get into the school you want.

Between the actual exams, tryout exams for jobs, and personal diagnostic exams, I have never scored below 99th-percentile on the LSAT, GMAT, nor GRE. I started in the industry in 2002 with Kaplan, and founded my own company in 2005. I was one of Veritas's (acquired by Varsity Tutors as their elite program) first instructors and a go-to instructor for most of their existence, teaching literally coast-to-coast until moving off of their grid in 2017. Career highlights include successfully writing and then teaching my own LSAT course, teaching over a dozen GMAT classes at Booth School of Business at University of Chicago, and tutoring around Silicon Valley at locations such as the Google campus, Stanford, and the San Francisco Financial District. In short, I've taught and tutored thousands of students within the elite model used by Veritas, Manhattan, and others, in which the highest-scoring instructors teach in small classrooms and focus on higher-end analytic aspects of the exam. I wrote my own LSAT course, and I contributed to the highly-regarded Veritas course and books. My students have gone on to attend the best law and business schools in the world.
