I have been tutoring GMAT Verbal for 10 years and have very clear and precise strategies that have helped dozens of students achieve their goals. As a lover of language, a teacher of English, and a writer myself, I have the skills to integrate all things verbal with the necessary standardized test taking methods.

I’m a deferred MBA admit to the Kellogg School of Management and scored a 715 on the GMAT Focus Edition — a 99th percentile result — after just under three months of self-prep. My goal as a coach is to help you optimize your study time, focus on high-yield strategies, and avoid the common pitfalls that waste time and lead to burnout. I've been coaching the GMAT for almost as long as distance learning has been around. However, my story really starts in 2006, the year I notched a nifty 770 on my GMAT and received a scholarship to the USC - Marshall School of Business. In the following years, I made the Graduate Dean's list in 3 semesters, and excelled at such courses as Microeconomics, Corporate Finance, and Statistics. My general academic interests fun rather parallel to the topics of the GMAT, and I sincerely feel that any incoming b-school student should have excellent capabilities in reading comprehension, argumentation, and college level quantitative skills. In the decade I've been coaching students in the GMAT, I've worked with nearly 250 people over a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, and thus have dozens of success stories from students who succeeded in increasing their scores by 100+ points! I have had a wide variety of students, but I would consider my niche to be veterans/active military, folks with learning disabilities, and those in search of a scholarship

My intuitive, common-sense approach to the GMAT has helped numerous students get top scores since 2011. I emphasize comprehension rather than memorization: Instead of just giving you rules to remember, I help you figure out why they work. There's no magic formula that makes the GMAT easy, but with my techniques, it won't feel too hard. A good GMAT tutor should meet students where they are, and I always strive to do this. If you know a concept but struggle to apply it to certain tricky problems, I can help you with that. Alternatively, if you need something explained from the ground up, I can help with that too. I am flexible enough to work within your mental framework, rather than imposing something completely unfamiliar. My goal is to find explanations and methods that work for you, even if they aren’t entirely standard. I'll make sure to warn you if you're heading in a wrong direction, but for the most part I view GMAT tutoring as an opportunity to help you leverage skills that you already have. I've found this to be a very rewarding process, and I think you will too!

I have tutored the GMAT and GRE for 10 years. I worked for Kaplan and a couple of other tutoring firms before striking out on my own 8 years ago. I developed a unique approach to mastering the content presented on the GMAT and GRE, and I also help students structure the entirety of their studying process and provide a comprehensive approach including homework and practice tests. I've tutored over 900 students, most of whom have gone on to attend all of the Top 7 MBA programs, as well as top schools in Europe.
