For the last 20+ years I have had the honor of helping over a thousand students catapult their GMAT scores and get into the school of their dreams. My unique approach is to get inside the head of my students and teach them how to ask better questions when they attack a GMAT problem. This puts them in the correct headspace that they need in order to "see" what the question is asking, its nuances, its trickiness. My experience is that this also helps tremendously with test anxiety. I teach my students the best and fastest strategies for solving quant and DI questions and the ideal way to think on the verbal section. I also use carefully honed diagnostic tools to assess a student's specific areas of content weakness so that we can maximize the use of our time together. When there are content gaps, I help my students shore those up with uniquely memorable lessons and access to my library of content videos. I track my students' progress carefully with shared google documents, specific homework assignments, a review log, and flash cards. I’ve been teaching the GMAT since 2006 and the GRE since 2009. Over the years I’ve created a vast collection of slides, notes, and handouts for you. But I don’t believe in being complacent – in fact I’m constantly trying to improve through further study, research, and innovation. When I worked for a test-prep company I wrote a 270-page manual on Verbal problems, to help train the company’s teachers and textbook writers. To keep my math skills sharp, I regularly take college-level math courses. Right now I’m also redesigning my whole Critical Reasoning curriculum. For me the most exciting thing about teaching is that moment when a student suddenly understands a concept. To make those “aha!” moments happen, I carefully tailor my lessons to each student’s knowledge level and learning style. I like the GMAT! I enjoy the challenge of GMAT puzzles and the satisfaction of developing effective skills to solve them. I scored a 755 (100th percentile) on the GMAT Focus Edition, with a V90, and tutor across all three sections, though I have the most experience with Verbal and DI. I like to think of the GMAT as a test of decision-making under time pressure, not raw intelligence. My emphasis is on question-solving strategies — how to read efficiently, eliminate decisively, and manage time without rushing or freezing. I’m very hands-on and adapt my approach to how you think, whether that means simplifying complex ideas, fixing timing issues, or helping you gain confidence where you’ve been second-guessing yourself.
