As a current medical student at the University of Miami School of Medicine with an engineering background, I bring a unique perspective to the medical school admissions process. As the Assistant Dean for Diversity for the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania I was on its Admissions Committee and also served on the National Admissions Committee at the Association of American Medical Colleges for a while. As a result of these experiences, I developed expertise in advising students on their academic qualifications and extracurricular activities necessary for medical school acceptance. I've had much success helping students be accepted to top-tier medical schools which were: Penn, Harvard, Columbia, Case Western, Wake Forrest, Brown, UCLA and Jefferson.

I am a dual-degree MD/MBA student at a T5 Ivy League Medical school and Ivy League M7 business school, and I understand firsthand the complexity of applying to medical school, and to combined programs, while trying to build a compelling, mission-driven narrative. I have experience navigating the application process, refining personal statements and secondary essays, and aligning academic, research, and leadership experiences into a cohesive story that resonates with admissions committees. My training in both medicine and business also gives me a strong perspective on what MD/MBA programs look for: intellectual curiosity, leadership potential, systems thinking, and a clear vision for impact in healthcare. Beyond my own journey, I have worked extensively on research, healthcare innovation projects, and leadership initiatives that required communicating complex ideas clearly and persuasively, skills directly transferable to crafting strong applications. I coach students on how to articulate their motivations for medicine, demonstrate impact through their experiences, and position themselves effectively for MD and MD/MBA programs. I have worked as a Med School coach helping pre-medical students, medical students, residents, and cardiology fellows along their journey, since July 2021. I worked for MedSchool Insiders previously.

l have been mentoring and coaching students in the undergraduate, medical, and medical residency application process for over 25 years. My clients have been accepted to outstanding schools such as Harvard College, Harvard Medical School, Stanford University School of Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, Stanford Neurosurgery Residency, and Yale Internal Medicine Residency. All of the medical school applicants I have worked with have received multiple interviews at the very top programs. I hold a PhD in English and American Literature (with a writing emphasis) (1982) and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (1986). I taught introductory and advanced writing at the University of Massachusetts for many years and also worked for over five years as a consultant/writer/editor at Arthur D. Little, a large Boston based consulting firm. In addition to my mentorship work and work as a writer, I am a Clinical Psychologist and have been working with young adult clients for some thirty years. While I am passionate about my clinical work, I honestly enjoy applying my skillset toward working through the essay writing and application process with those applying to college and medical school. This process requires some self reflection in order to create a convincing narrative, and I love guiding my clients through this process. My goals is always to help create the most convincing and well written essays-- essays that perfectly support the student’s application. In addition to helping clients with the essay components of the application process, I also have great insight into the "tricks" of structuring and presenting the activity section of the medical school application--so that you ultimately create a cohesive and convincing picture of what you have accomplished, who you are, and how you stand out.
