I'm Oren Margolis, a former Senior Associate Director of MBA Admissions at NYU Stern, where I evaluated thousands of applications and represented the school globally. I graduated from Harvard Business School and have 10+ years of coaching experience. I have helped numerous clients get into Harvard, Stanford, Wharton and M7 as well as land jobs in banking & investing. I previously worked for the University of Michigan career center helping students apply for investment banking jobs and have reviewed hundreds of resumes, cover letters and mock interviews. I have also spent many years working with non-profits such as Synergist to mentor college women interested in business and finance and Minds Matter to help first-generation high school students apply to college. I take a hands-on approach and strive to help every one of my clients reflect their best true potential.

I graduated from Stanford's MBA program at the GSB in June of 2023. I am a successful deferred MBA and traditional MBA coach with more than 15+ clients receiving acceptances at M7 programs. including GSB, HBS, Wharton, Kellogg, Booth, Columbia, and Sloan for both deferred and traditional MBA applications. I've had a diverse set of work experiences both before HBS (venture capital, social activism, government) and since (Goldman Sachs, The Economist, and now transitioning into creative work / poetry). In fact, I almost didn't apply. I had no MBB background, a below-average GPA, and even had a mentor decline to recommend me because they didn’t believe I’d get in anywhere good. I was intimidated by the profiles I found online of people who attended these schools and became full of impostor syndrome. Luckily a friend convinced me to apply anyway. I ended up being the only person at my company (200k+ employees globally) who was accepted to Stanford that year. How did I do it? By crafting a compelling and cohesive narrative that tied together every part of my application (essays, extracurriculars, recommendations, resume, etc.). I want to help you do the same and make your MBA applications the best they can be! I have extensive experience in marketing, writing, and storytelling. I want to use these skills to help you.
