About Douglas
I believe that career success shouldn't be dictated by your personal background. Originally from Hawai'i, I grew up as a first-generation student in a household dedicated to public service; my mother worked in our local schools and my father was a firefighter. Growing up, the "corporate world" felt like a distant reality, and the path to places like Google or McKinsey wasn't even on my radar. In fact, when I got to Vanderbilt, where people talked about "banking," for weeks I assumed they meant becoming a local bank teller. I did not get it, but then I quickly learned. Whether you are a first-gen student trying to break into the industry or a seasoned professional aiming for the C-suite, I bring a perspective rooted in grit, structured strategy, and a genuine investment in you and your story. I know exactly what it feels like to be the "outsider" in the room, and I am here to ensure that you not only get into the room but lead the conversation once you’re there.
Why do I coach?
My journey from a small town in Hawai'i to top tiers of tech and consulting was made possible by the coaches and mentors who took a chance on me. They taught me the unspoken language of business and helped me translate my drive, interests, and love for people into a career strategy. Today, I am a coach because I want to pay that investment forward. I have a deep-seated love for people and a fascination with solving complex business problems, but my true passion lies in helping others bridge the gap between their current reality and their highest ambitions.
