Previously in my role at France's prestigious Sciences Po, I offered countless workshops on how to write an impactful CV, as well as how to interview effectively. Prior to this, I worked in admissions & recruitment at Long Island University in New York. Additionally, as an English teacher for many years, most recently at the prestigious École de Guerre, you can rest assured that your essays will be critiqued for English grammar and spelling with the eye of a hawk. In 2020, I created Candidate Coach to do admissions consulting full time. For 10 years, the Harvard Business School MBA felt like a distant dream. I didn’t come from a target school, a brand-name firm, or a background admissions committees are used to saying “yes” to. No one from my undergrad, master’s, or organization had ever gone to HBS. Coming from an over-represented pool made it even harder. But I still got in. I did it by understanding what elite MBA programs actually look for and by crafting a story that stood out in a sea of similar profiles. I bring deep experience in MBA admissions, having previously served as the Assistant Director of Admissions at the Kellogg School of Management, where I helped shape recruitment strategies that elevated the quality and diversity of incoming classes. I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel to plan for the future while you’re still figuring out what direction you want to take. When I first began exploring deferred MBA programs, I was in the same place—unsure exactly what I wanted the next few years to look like but eager to create a foundation of security, growth, and access to further education. For me, the process became as much about self-discovery as it was about applications. I’m a recent graduate of Dartmouth College where I studiedEnvironmental Studies and Computer Science. My academic path has centered around using data and systems thinking to address environmental and energy challenges. Professionally, I’ve worked at Amazon in their Energy Portfolio Management team, where I built analytical tools that improved renewable energy data systems and helped manage a $X billion portfolio of energy project securities. I’ve also conducted clean energy and sustainability research through nonprofits and coursework, giving me a strong foundation in both the technical and strategic sides of the climate and business landscape. Across these experiences, I’ve developed a skill set that blends analytical rigor, structured problem-solving, and storytelling, skills that are essential not only in business but also in communicating your unique story to MBA admissions committees. I’ve learned how to identify the throughline across diverse experiences and articulate it in a way that feels authentic and intentional. What I bring to coaching is empathy, structure, and clarity. I’ve been through the uncertainty and pressure of trying to “figure it all out” while still in college, and I know that the deferred MBA process can feel abstract or intimidating at times. Feeling out of your league? I got into America's #1 business school despite having the lowest accepted GRE math score in years. I specialize in helping people from nontraditional professional backgrounds, like myself, apply to elite MBA programs. Prior to attending Stanford's GSB on a full merit scholarship (Knight Hennessy), I had only worked in international development and public service. I felt imposter syndrome about applying to business school: I had no idea what EBITDA was and hadn't used numbers in 10 years.
