I love the storytelling of admissions essays. My specialty is working on the law school essays, ranging from short optional essays, to diversity statements, to the personal statement. Having worked as a legal assistant, a resident assistant, and as president of a law school organization, I believe in the value of public service, and in sharing my knowledge with you. I start with understanding your goals and emotions, to help you tell the story you want to tell about your journey to law school. I have experience in legal advocacy and working with legal clients from a wide range of backgrounds, and am comfortable meeting you where you are. I see myself as helping you to grow your creativity in the essay writing process, trimming areas that may trip you up, and coming out with an incredible bouquet of essays. Hey future colleague! I'm a current JD candidate and Knight-Hennessy Scholar at Stanford Law school. I've been through many "rodeos" when it comes to grueling applications. I know what it's like to have a dream, and I'm here to make yours a reality. When applying to law school, I received acceptances to Stanford, Harvard, Columbia, Georgetown, NYU, UMichigan, and UC Berkeley (the last of three were all full-ride offers). Beyond applying for law school, I have ample experience with tough interviews, having interviewed for the Rhodes, Marshall, Soros, Knight-Hennessy, Schwarzman, and Truman scholarships. Brian brings over ten years of experience in admissions to world-renowned universities in the US and UK. His specialties are top-ranked colleges and elite graduate programs in law, business, public policy, finance, and economics. He has guided clients into schools like Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley, UChicago, Upenn, Columbia, Yale, London School of Economics, King's College London, Duke, Cornell, Georgetown, USC, and Johns Hopkins. Brian was personally admitted to multiple Ivy League law schools before choosing to pursue a JD at UC Berkeley. He also holds a master of social science from UCLA. His research interests include Bitcoin, green finance, and civil liberties.

Let's connect! What's the process like? I like to do a 15-30 minute meeting up front to understand your background, goals, and priorities. We identify tasks to accomplish and set deadlines for each, taking a step-by-step approach that feels manageable. Clients can send written drafts anytime, and I provide written feedback within 48 hours. I'm always available to answer pop-up questions and support. We schedule follow-up meetings as needed.

I am currently a 3L student at University of Pennsylvania Law School. I was accepted off the waitlist in May 2023; before I committed to Penn, I was planning on attending UCLA Law. At Penn, I was awarded the Leader of the Year Award for my pro bono work my 2L year, received my Wharton Certificate in Management, and was a Wharton McNulty Nonprofit Board Fellow with Jounce Partners. I am the Development Editor for the Journal of Constitutional Law and led both the Pardon Project and Democracy Law Project (the two largest pro bono projects at Penn). Before law school, I worked for three years -- I was on the 2020 Biden Campaign and then worked in the Administration at the U.S. Department of Health of Human Services in the Secretary's Office. I have mentored four people through the law school waitlist process, drawing on my own experience of being initially waitlisted at Penn. When I applied to law school, I was working long hours and was not a natural test taker, so I focused on leveraging my professional experience and presenting my story in the strongest possible way. That approach earned me admission to UCLA Law (a T14 school) through my personal statement and essays, and later, I was accepted off the waitlists at both Georgetown Law and Penn Law before starting 1L. Since then, I have coached four applicants through the same process, helping them strategically navigate their waitlists. Each of them ultimately secured admission to their top-choice school, along with several others. I hope to continue using my experience to help future applicants maximize their chances of success.

As someone who was admitted to both Harvard Law School and NYU Law, I bring firsthand experience navigating the highly competitive law school admissions process. My background includes four years as a software engineer at a top-tier tech company, where I honed analytical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills — all of which I bring to my coaching. I’ve conducted countless interviews in a professional setting and understand how to prepare applicants to present themselves with clarity and confidence. I’ve also already helped several individuals craft compelling personal statements and prepare strong applications, guiding them through every step of the process. Clients I’ve worked with have earned admission to T-14 programs and received significant scholarship awards, including applicants with unconventional paths or imperfect GPAs. Personally, I navigated the process twice (once with the GRE and once with the LSAT) and received multiple T-14 offers and scholarship packages, which gives me firsthand insight into how schools evaluate applicants. While I work with all candidates, I consider my coaching ideal for applicants with nontraditional backgrounds, career pivots, gap years, or imperfect GPA/LSAT profiles. Over the past several years, I’ve coached applicants with every kind of background. This ranges from traditional and non-traditional applications. Prospective students and clients have entered feeling they had imperfect credentials and often left with competitive admissions and scholarship decisions. Beyond my admissions experience, I bring a commercial and legal background that helps applicants articulate their professional maturity, career readiness, and real-world value in ways admissions committees respond to. I don’t just edit essays, in fact I'd suggest I'm not the best coach if tha'ts your main aim.
