I'm currently a Stanford MBA (where I'm the Student Body Co-President), and have 5+years of college admissions coaching experience. Before GSB, I spent time as a teacher (focusing on essay writing and story telling) and as a management consultant. Over the years working in admissions consulting, I have helped students based in the US, Hong Kong, China, and Singapore successfully apply to school. I'm here to help you create a stellar MBA application that can launch you into a top program in a way that tells your authentic story. As a coach, I bring a structured, honest, and tailored approach to the application process. Beyond my teaching experience, I also have a BA in Economics, Psychology, and Creative Writing from Northwestern University through which I learned how to help people navigate their truest stories. I'm particularly experienced at helping prospective MBAs figure out how the MBA would play into their larger goals as people and as professionals. As a Stanford student who was also admitted to Harvard, Yale, and Wharton (to name a few), I’ve experienced firsthand what it takes to stand out in the highly competitive college admissions process. My work as a mentor with the Summer Science Program and as a tutor with Curious Cardinals has honed my ability to help students identify and communicate their authentic stories with confidence. I graduated from the University of Oxford with First Class Honours in English Language and Literature— the highest academic distinction in the UK system. While at Oxford, I tutored part-time, and I now work as a freelance tutor with students across both the UK and the US. For bright American students, the most prestigious UK universities—Oxford, Cambridge, St Andrews, Edinburgh, Durham, UCL—deserve serious consideration. Yet the application process often feels mystifying from a US perspective. UK admissions place a premium on subject focus: the personal statement is academic and concise, and applicants are judged almost entirely on subject-specific potential. This means that many students who may feel lost in the highly extracurricular-driven US system could in fact be very strong candidates for top UK universities. However, expert, UK-specific guidance remains hard to find in the US, particularly for Oxbridge. My role is to demystify this process and provide clear, no-nonsense support, from personal statement coaching to interview preparation and application strategy. I know what works! My specialism is in English, but I have also guided students successfully through personal statements and interview preparation for a range of humanities subjects, from History and Politics to Philosophy and Classics. Getting accepted to a top university was my dream growing up, so when after being accepted to all the UCs, and eventually attending UC Berkeley, I knew I wanted to help others reach their higher education dreams as well. Since high school, I've taken opportunities to tutor and mentor others and even when I started my career in entertainment, I was an academic tutor, helping students with their grades, test prep, and college applications. With SAT scores and college acceptance becoming increasingly competitive it's important while applying to be confident in oneself and communicate a story that stands out. This is my skill. As a mentor and tutor, my goal has always been to support my students beyond just academics. I work with my students on building sustainable life skills that boosts their confidence and helps them "unpack" their story. Then, as a coach, I help my students with communicating their story, knowing in particular what schools are looking for. I've thoroughly enjoyed helping my clients reach their academic goals and more importantly, build their confidence so they can succeed in all endeavors.
