Hi! So nice to meet you. I bring a unique perspective to admissions coaching and crafting applications, having attended Harvard for my undergrad and now attending Oxford for 2 Masters degrees in public policy and pharmacology. I’m also a US Rhodes Scholar from Chicago, IL so am happy to chat about post-college fellowship life and application strategy as well. After my time at Oxford, I’ll be attending medical school so can help you with MCAT prep and medical school essays/interviews too! Happy to be flexible with you. Extracurricularly, as a co-founder of Project Cascade and a Board Director at Raise Uganda Now, I have honed my skills in leadership and mentorship, which I apply to help students navigate the complex application process to college, medical school, or competitive fellowships. My experience as a researcher at the Broad Institute and a guest lecturer in infectious disease modeling further enriches my ability to guide students in crafting compelling narratives that highlight their unique strengths and aspirations. Having been a college consultant, MCAT tutor, and chemistry teaching assistant for years now, I am passionate about helping you achieve your academic/professional dreams. As a first-generation college student from a Title I high school, I understand the challenges of navigating the college admissions process without a roadmap—and I’ve turned that experience into my strength. I was accepted to Yale, UPenn, Columbia, Cornell, Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, Carnegie Mellon, UCLA, and received a full ride to UF. At Yale, I conduct research in GIS and machine learning and continue mentoring students from backgrounds like mine. My journey includes earning national awards like the MIT FutureMakers Outstanding Achievement Award, leading my own nonprofit (Muscle Blueprints), and working as a tutor and admissions mentor. I wasn’t the typical profile for Carnegie Mellon University’s undergraduate class. With a 3.5 GPA and limited extracurricular involvement because I was supporting my mother at home, I assumed top schools were out of reach. What I underestimated was the power of a compelling narrative. Despite my lower GPA, I became a QuestBridge Scholar, earned a full ride to College of William & Mary and significant scholarships from University of Notre Dame and University of Virginia, and was admitted as a Science and Humanities Scholar at Carnegie Mellon University. Since then, I've helped students of different backgrounds get into their dream schools by crafting an application that highlights their strengths and mitigates their weaknesses. Hi, I’m Ashley! I am based in New York City where I currently work in admissions at Teachers College, Columbia University. I was first drawn to the field of admissions during my time as a student at the University of Virginia. As a Senior Resident and an Admission Ambassador at UVA, I had the opportunity to closely guide hundreds of students in navigating their first year of college, and I found these experiences to be incredibly rewarding. Since then, I have happily developed my admissions career at TC for the past 11 years, including earning a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education along the way! At Teachers College, I am a Senior Associate Director of Admission, liaising with the Counseling and Clinical Psychology Department as well as leading our virtual recruitment initiatives. I find so much joy in connecting with our prospective students to help them understand how their interests and strengths may translate into an exceptional application. On the other side of the process, I regularly feel inspired while reviewing the applications of these vibrant students, who often desire to make a beneficial impact on society. While it is a privilege for me to help shape a new cohort of dynamic students, I feel equally honored to assist applicants in discovering their unique voice within the application process. Outside of Teachers College, I spent a year working with a private college counseling company where I counseled and mentored high school students through the entire undergraduate admission process. In this role, I assisted students in researching institutions of interest, creating a balanced school list aligned with their academic goals, gathering and crafting required application materials for each school, and submitting polished materials. My students were successfully admitted into wonderful schools such as Tufts, Georgia Tech, New York University, Georgetown, and UC Berkeley, just to name a few!
