As a Harvard College graduate and current MBA student at Harvard Business School, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to college admissions coaching. While I currently coach students for college, MD, and MBA applications, I started my coaching career in college advising and have been successful in helping over 20 students gain admission into every Ivy League School and top BS/MD programs. Over the last nine admission cycles, I have supported more than 170 students globally, helping them earn 60+ Ivy League offers and acceptances to other top-tier U.S. and international institutions. My students have collectively secured upwards of 6 million USD in need-based and merit-based scholarships, significantly reducing the cost of their education. In addition to college admissions, I have guided multiple students to admission into hyper-selective summer programs such as MIT’s Research Science Institute (RSI) and multiple cohorts of the University of Pennsylvania’s Management & Technology Summer Institute (M&TSI).​ My counseling style is structured, data-informed, and high-touch: I set clear expectations, break complex processes into manageable steps, and hold students accountable while championing their growth. Pitchman and award-winning writer: I have successfully coached 300+ students in the college admissions process, so I understand the nuances of crafting standout applications for admissions committees. Among other things, I help with essay writing (my specialty), school selection, resume and interview preparation, and overall application strategy. I have an MBA, with a marketing concentration. I also have undergrad and grad degrees in writing, including from Northwestern, and I wrote and edited essays and human-interest stories for news outlets for more than 20 years. In addition, I've taught resume writing and interview prep at two junior colleges and helped students there apply to 4-year universities.

In my ~5 years at BYU, I wrote hundreds of papers/articles/publications, and edited hundreds more for my major, personal interests, and role as Editor of the BYU Political Review. I have an intimate understanding of what good (and bad!) writing looks like. At Leland, I run our content engines and I've read everything there is to know about the college and graduate admissions process. I understand what the admissions committees are looking for and what you need to do to present a compelling case for acceptance. I believe anyone can make a great candidate for a school and it's about the way you tell your story that makes all the difference. I had a lot of varied interests in high school from robotics to debate, and when it came time for college applications, I had no idea what I wanted to do in the future. I was interested in the collaborative nature of business, enjoyed hands-on building with engineering, and also loved learning about current events and policy solutions through public policy. I spent a lot of time crafting a narrative that encompassed all my interests along a single thread, and spent effort creating individual supplements for each school. At the end of the day, my effort paid off and when it came time to choose between acceptances, I had gotten into Georgia Tech for Aerospace Engineering, NYU Stern for business, and Georgetown for public policy. I've since helped several others navigate the college application process with an emphasis on creating an essay and strategy that best reflects each student and their goals.

I've cracked the admissions code twice (once for undergrad, once for MBA) and spent 5+ years as an undergraduate admissions interviewer, giving me rare insight from both sides of the process.
