I've evaluated hundreds of applications, so I’ve seen firsthand what works (and what doesn’t) when it comes to essays, activities, and overall presentation. With a strong academic background in cognitive science from Johns Hopkins University and a medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis, I bring a unique perspective to college admissions coaching. My experience as a college counselor in several incredible high schools is complemented by my background in supporting student mental health and well-being. This allows me to create plans that will help you to manage even the most stressful moments of this process. Get organized, break a large process down into small tasks, and start moving forward, my friends :) I started my career as a counselor at Hunter College High School in New York City where students aim high (like, really high) and get in! HCHS also boasts a solid percentage of first generation college students gaining acceptance to highly selective colleges. I was a core part of the team founding the college counseling program at Leman Manhattan Preparatory School, leading to exceptional college acceptances. I have worked in international schools with students from dozens of countries, and have supported the development of counseling programs in the US, China, and Japan. I have also been a professional college admissions interviewer, and am a contributing writer for several incredible college admissions websites and platforms. I have presented at college admissions conferences in the US, Asia, and Europe, and I have also been a member of national college admissions organizations for more than 15 years. I have visited more than 100 US college campuses, meeting with admissions officers at each one, as well as visits to over 30 campuses in the UK, Canada, Japan, Singapore, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and more.

I have had 5 years of admissions coaching with both domestic and international students. Prior to coaching, I had 4 years of graduate admissions experience as a recruiter, director and regional director of admissions for multiple universities. I have helped students to achieve their goal of receiving acceptances at elite universities and private institutions such as Brigham Young University.

Hello! I've gone through the application process for getting into school 4 times in the past decades. I've earned degrees from Stanford University (BS), Georgia Institute of Technology (MS), and Harvard University (MBA and MS). I especially enjoy writing and editing essays; I had my undergraduate essay for Stanford featured in a book titled "50 successful Stanford Application Essays : Write Your Way Into the College of your Choice", was a finalist for the Boothe Prize for Excellence in Freshman Writing, and scored in the 99% percentile for verbal reasoning on both the GMAT and SAT. I've also had the honor and privilege of serving as an Admissions Interview Volunteer for my alma mater for a few years. As a result of all of this experience, I believe that I have a deep understanding of the college admissions process and what it takes to get into a great university. I have a track record of helping students achieve their goals, whether it's through mentoring programs like Big Brothers Big Sisters or facilitating workshops with organizations like /dev/color. I've had experience as a teaching assistant at Stanford and done research work in graduate education so I have a unique perspective on the challenges students face and how to overcome them. I achieved the highest possible level of scholarship (Presidential Scholarship, "Thomas S. Monson Scholar") coming into undergraduate study at Brigham Young University (BYU), awarded to only 50 students in each incoming class of 7000+ students. I've since helped students of many backgrounds successfully apply to BYU, including international students.
