After graduating from undergrad, I worked at the business school at UCLA in student affairs, where I collaborated closely with admissions and supported prospective students through their journey. I had the opportunity to coach applicants, answer their questions honestly, and help them understand what admissions committees are truly looking for. I also served on my undergraduate alma mater’s admissions committee, where I reviewed applications and essays, giving me direct insight into how candidates are evaluated. After going through the MBA application process myself, I realized how valuable genuine, strategic guidance is. As a first-generation college student, I've had to learn a lot of things the hard way. That experience is exactly what brought me to coaching — I want to be the coach I wish I had when I was applying to schools. I graduated with a B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford and my MBA from Harvard Business School. I've spent most of my career at high-growth health tech companies in business operations, with some time as a consultant at Bain & Company. I specialize in helping people craft and communicate their unique stories. I also know that sharing something that personal with someone new can feel intimidating — that's been true for me too. So I'm intentional about creating a space where you feel comfortable being open and honest, because at the end of the day, digging deep and telling a clear story of who you are and what you bring to the table is the most important part of this whole process. Most students know what they've done. Very few know how to tell you who they are. That's where I come in. I've spent my career at the intersection of admissions and storytelling. I ran the admissions committee for Seaver College at my alma mater Pepperdine, where I was one of the youngest Associate Directors of Admission in the country. After attending The University of Chicago Law School, I served as the Director of MBA Admissions Consulting at Veritas Prep and then co-owned an MBA admissions practice where I helped hundreds of candidates get into Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, and other top business schools. More recently I co-founded Campside Media, one of the most respected podcast studios in the country, and have sold or been hired to write a dozen screenplays in the entertainment industry. What I've learned in both admissions and Hollywood is the same thing: the people who succeed are the ones who know their story and can communicate it clearly and authentically. That's the foundation of everything I do at True North. Before we talk about schools or essays, we build your Map — a detailed profile of who you are, what drives you, and what kind of college experience will actually help you become the person you're meant to be. Everything flows from there. I believe fit trumps brand. I believe high school should be an authentic experience, not a four-year audition. And I believe there are more great colleges out there than most families realize. Further, I'm navigating this process with my own daughter right now which is part of what drew me back to this work — and it keeps me sharp on what families are actually experiencing. Through both college and law school admissions, I became deeply interested in what actually drives admissions and scholarship outcomes — from application timing and school selection strategy to crafting essays that feel both authentic and compelling. As a Columbia graduate and an incoming MBA candidate at The Wharton School I offer coaching for both undergraduate and MBA applicants. Over the past 6+ years I have successfully advised students who have gained admission into top schools such as Stanford, Yale, Princeton, Brown, UPenn, UC Berkeley, and USC. What I offer: Story-telling: A bad story can kill a great application and a great story could be what gets you into your dream school. I help prospective applicants craft a singular narrative that is authentic, compelling and intentional. Interview training: As a trained interviewer at Columbia I am able to give high quality mock interviews for any program International perspective: I did not go to high school in the US and there was no playbook for college admissions. I navigated the undergraduate and MBA application process on my own, and received admissions to several Ivy Leagues and top schools.

With more than 24 years as Adjunct Professor at Colleges and universities, I have participated in the critical process of scholarship committees which is in the business of discerning the small differences between the good and the potentially great candidates. The entire motive for any professor worth their weight in salt is to recognize the worthy student and elevate them to the level where they may blossom. When you work with me we take on a holistic view of the applicant as a true human being so they stand out even just an 1/8th of an inch to be noticed even in stacks of applicants with loads of competition. The point is to put your very best foot forward so that we leave as little to chance as possible. The trend is to fall back on AI which in itself seems to be an added value but on the aggregate creates a kind of generic AI aesthetic which when viewed by the admissions office becomes something with less humanity.
