While I was preparing for my university applications, I recognized that one of the most important components of the application is the essay and having a hook in extracurricular activities. It's not the GPA/SAT score like many believe (which in actuality is only a checkbox for the admissions committee). I was able to fully understand how the admissions committee evaluates an application after reading my Stanford application and the admission committee comments on there.
