Based on my extensive experience in private equity and investment banking at top-tier firms such as H.I.G. Capital, Warburg Pincus and J.P. I successfully broke into private equity from a non-target school, where I learned firsthand that the traditional recruiting funnel doesn't work for everyone. I’ve navigated the process and can help you build your own playbook for breaking in, just as I did. After my time at Bain & Co, I moved to an Operating Partner role in a large Private Credit fund, where I lead our distressed turnarounds (similar to a PE turnaround). I work with all teams internally - Credit, Portfolio Management, and Origination - to manage and turnaround key portfolio companies and drive EBITDA improvements. I have deep experience with Private Equity / Private Credit interviews and recruiting.

I broke into private equity at 19, landed an investment banking job offer mid-flight, and joined KKR straight out of undergrad. Since then, I’ve led ~$3B in deals across buyout, growth, and venture, working directly with founders, CEOs, and billion-dollar funds. I know how to navigate high-stakes, prestige-driven environments without losing your edge. I’m especially passionate about helping non-target, underrepresented, and ambitious students shortcut the learning curve, land top roles, and carry themselves with both confidence and clarity. With an MBA from Harvard Business School and a career spanning top-tier investment banking and private equity shops, I bring firsthand insight into what it takes to succeed in the industry. I began my career at Lazard, where I built a strong foundation in M&A execution, before transitioning into private equity, where I’ve held investment roles at Siris Capital, BayHawk Capital, and Vantage Equity Partners. Over the course of my investing career, I’ve led multiple platform investments and executed dozens of add-on acquisitions across a range of industries and deal structures. After spending 3 years at McKinsey, I moved to the buyside as an Associate to join a $1B Mid-market fund in Boston called AVALT, formed by a collection of former Bain Capital partners. I was promoted to Senior Associate and then Vice President without needing to go to business school, and was an interviewer for intern, analyst, and associate candidates. AVALT is a "consultant-friendly" PE shop, so my coaching is best directed at those targeting funds like AVALT (e.g., Golden Gate, Bain Capital, Serent, HGGC) than it is for IB-heavy shops.
