Welcome to my profile! I’m currently a Private Equity Associate at Abry Partners, a Boston-based firm managing over $18B in assets. I began my career in Investment Banking at Solomon Partners and graduated from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. At Solomon, I was actively involved in recruiting — interviewing and screening 50+ candidates — and developed a strong sense of what top firms are really looking for. I’ve since gone through the on-cycle private equity process myself and know how tough and opaque it can feel, especially without the right guidance. I interned and worked in Wells Fargo's Consumer & Retail team, and have experience with M&A, equity and debt financing, and corporate advisory. My focus in Investment Banking was Consumer & Retail and M&A. My focus in Private Equity was Lower Middle Market & Middle Market.

Having personally gone through multiple recruiting cycles and later transitioned to Private Equity at a top megafund, I understand what banks look for at every stage from resume screening to final-round interviews. I’ve also been on the other side of the table, helping recruit and prepare candidates for banking roles. I know the nuances of each firm’s interview style, the most common technical pitfalls, and what differentiates top-performing analysts from the rest. As one of four Investment Banking Career Fellows at the Wharton School (selected for demonstrated excellence in the recruiting process), I coach first-year MBA students on mastering every stage of investment banking recruitment. Hi! Hope you're doing well. My name is Kyle, and I'm currently an associate at a megafund in private equity, having worked as a full-time analyst on the technology investment banking team at Morgan Stanley for two years, and having graduated from Stanford with a degree in Economics and Computer Science. I love serving as a finance coach because of the chance for me to pay it forward, given the mentorship I received from others during my recruiting journey despite being low-income, and helping my students successfully land their dream jobs at top firms. I specialize across investment banking, private equity, and asset management, with services ranging from interview case prep to financial modeling and analysis and much more. I faced a lot of challenges during my recruiting journey, and failed during interviews at 20+ firms, which fortunately has equipped me with a wealth of recruiting insights and experience. What differentiates me as a coach is my understanding of the sector landscape (ie. MM vs. UMM vs. MF funds in PE or boutique firms in IB), knowing what the interviewers will ask and what they want to hear, as well as the wealth of practice resources and materials I have for students.

My background in finance from Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management and the University of Kentucky, combined with my leadership and teamwork skills honed as a varsity football player, uniquely position me to offer comprehensive coaching. I started out as a history major with no formal finance training—and I know exactly how daunting investment banking recruiting can feel when you’re not the “typical” candidate. But with the right preparation, I built the skills, learned how to tell my story, and went into recruiting with confidence. The result: I landed offers from every bank I interviewed with, including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, and PJT Partners. Now, as a coach, I help others do the same. I work with candidates from all backgrounds to sharpen their resumes, master technicals step by step, and practice interviews until they feel ready for anything. Having also interviewed candidates for superdays, I know exactly what firms are looking for—and how you can stand out. My goal is to help you approach recruiting with the structure, preparation, and confidence you need to succeed.

I spent ~10 years working in IB and PE. During that time, and after, I've worked with dozens of Investment Banks in my operating roles.

I have over ten years of investment banking experience, spanning bulge bracket and boutique / middle market firms, such as JPMorgan, Blackstone (now PJT), and Lincoln International. I primarily worked on mergers & acquisitions, capital raises, and restructuring engagements. After banking, I co-founded two companies and raised nearly $40m in VC funding. I currently work with start-ups and high-growth companies as a fractional CFO or consultant. I have also led investment banking new hire training programs, as well as on-campus investment banking interview prep seminars, for the last 8 years.
