Every spring semester, I mentor and teach classes of students at the University of Miami Herbert Business School in career applications of sustainable business. We discuss sectors of entrepreneurship, real-estate, ESG, green building, and overall sustainability. I'm an expert in the professional version of hopscotch: I've jumped across industries, sectors, functions, pay grades, cities, countries, and more. There's of course a thread that ties my career arc together - I'd love to tell you about it. But overall, I've followed what's tugged at my heartstrings in the moment, believing that I can continue to weave that thread toward more and more fulfilling and impactful work over time. Lots of lessons learned thus far, but I'd say it's going alright. All of these career pitstops mean I know a good bit about a lot of very different working environments (including consulting, big tech, education, workforce development, childcare, national service, place-based partnerships, philanthropy, and government). And perhaps more importantly, I'm very well-versed in the networking and job search strategies needed to make your next pivot in any direction on the career ladder.
