I’m Mercedes, an MBA admissions coach with a background from MIT and Bain and deferred admission to Stanford GSB and other top MBA programs. I help applicants develop clear, compelling application narratives rooted in their values, goals, and lived experiences. My clients have been admitted to top business schools including Stanford and MIT, with a particular specialization in Stanford’s MBA application and essays. I was admitted to Booth, Kellogg (MMM Program), and Wharton, all on merit scholarships ranging from 25-75% tuition coverage. I was an Admissions Fellow at Wharton, speaking to and interviewing over 300 candidates.

I'm a first-generation college student and former U.S. Army Black Hawk pilot who had no roadmap to business school. After navigating the process largely from scratch, I was accepted to MIT Sloan, Kellogg, Haas, Fuqua, Darden, and Tuck, and ultimately chose Sloan. That experience of figuring it out without a built-in network is exactly what drives my coaching: I know what it's like to feel lost and I know how to help you find clarity. Since then, I've helped 20+ candidates earn acceptances at programs including HBS, Stanford GSB, Booth, Sloan, Columbia, Kellogg, and others across the top 25. I specialize in helping applicants craft a compelling narrative, especially career changers, veterans, and anyone who feels like their story doesn't fit a traditional mold. As a current Harvard Business School student admitted through the 2+2 Deferred Enrollment Program, I have firsthand experience navigating both the deferred and traditional MBA admissions processes. I successfully gained admission to multiple top MBA programs, including my top choice HBS, and understand what it takes to craft a compelling application at every stage. I have extensive interviewing experience from throughout my professional career, including MBA admissions interviews, MBB consulting interviews, and behavioral interviews in a variety of forms. I have also given countless mock interviews and have experience giving very detailed, nuanced feedback and tips to help candidates find immediate growth opportunities. I graduated from Chicago Booth's Full Time MBA program in 2018. I was accepted into multiple top tier MBA schools, received significant scholarships to all schools ($275K in total, including the prestigious Siebel Scholarship), and achieved a 760 on the GMAT. While at Booth, I was a Booth Admissions Fellow and conducted over 30 admission interviews for the full time program, including for the Booth Scholars program (deferred admission for undergrad students). Additionally, once accepted, I advised colleagues and friends on the MBA process from school selection to applications to interviews.

As a proud NYU Stern MBA graduate with a merit-based scholarship and a spot on the Dean’s List, I bring a wealth of experience from my time as a strategy consultant at Deloitte and in investment banking at FT Partners. I've successfully coached candidates, helping them secure interviews and admissions at prestigious M7 schools, INSEAD, LBS, ISB, and other top programs. My expertise lies in guiding professionals from diverse backgrounds, including tech, finance, engineering, and family businesses, to sharpen their application strategy, essays, and interview skills.
