Hello! I'm Sathvika, a recent graduate of Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management (Class of 2024) - and it was the time of my life. From serving as Kellogg's Women's Business Association Co-President and performing in our annual business school musical to traveling the world with my classmates and partnering with Kellogg Admissions, I'm SO passionate about the unparalleled opportunities for professional and personal growth that business school has to offer. About me: I grew up in Houston, Texas and attended Boston University for my undergraduate studies in International Relations and Psychology. I then joined the corporate world where I started at Dow Chemical, working on post-merger integration projects. I then transitioned to digital transformation consulting at Accenture. Since undergrad, I knew I wanted the full-time top-tier MBA experience - so I began my application journey. The application process was intense – from GRE prep to crafting essays and securing great recommendations – all while balancing a demanding career. After my own journey applying and interviewing for MBAs, from rejections to full-time offers with scholarships, I can personally attest to the challenges, frustrations, and difficulties in determining the right school and executing to receive an offer. I visited 12 business schools in 5 countries in the US, Europe, and Asia in my own research and decision-making process. Coaching has always been a big passion of mine - while in business school, I was the VP of Prospective Students for the Armed Forces Association as well as a member of Service2School, a non-profit that provides guidance and mentorship for transitioning service members looking to pursue advanced degrees. I got into Wharton with a GMAT of 710 and TOEFL of 106, both well below the school's average. I also received scholarship and fellowship offers from NYU Stern and Michigan Ross. My test scores didn't define my application. What stood out was my unique story: diverse career pivots across functions and markets, a niche in entrepreneurship, design thinking, and EdTech, and a track record of doing things others thought impossible (like publishing two books before ever working in corporate). I leaned into what made me different, not what made me "the same best" as everyone else. That's the biggest mistake I see applicants make: trying to fit into what they think MBA programs want. But admissions committees aren't looking for the "best" candidate. They're looking for a diverse class of unique individuals. Your job isn't to be perfect. It's to be distinctly you. I pursued a dual degree, MBA and Master's in Education, at Penn because I'm genuinely passionate about empowering others. That same passion drives my coaching today. I also know what it feels like to work with big-name consultants who don't remember your story and give generic advice. My approach is different.
